DEvaRkum -தேவரà¯à®•à¯à®•à¯à®®à¯ Kaliyan mentions that even the DEvA clan cannot realise EmperumAn. Sri PeriyavAchAn piLLai questions why should AzvAr mention the special term Even DEVAs i.e தேவரà¯à®•à¯à®•à¯à®®à¯ This is because of their exalted status of holding higher knowledge and power vishesha gnAna sakthigaL The point here is -even those wielding higher knowledge and power cannot relaise Him. It is not just mankind like us but even the souls possessing better powers cannot understand Him. That is why this term 'DEvaRkum' 'தேவரà¯à®•à¯à®•à¯à®®à¯' அநà¯à®¤à®©à®©à¯ˆ Generally, the term 'andhanan' refers to a Brahamin. Here, Sri PeriyvavAchAn piLLai gives the meaning as 'THE PURE ONE' 'ஸà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à®©à¯' Why not Brahmin? He himself qeustions/ This pasuram talks Empeurman as indweller of the five elements, the languages, directions and prime mover of the deities and souls. Being so, does the defects of these touch the Almighty.'NO' is the categorical response. Despite bieng indweller of the souls and inanimate objects, the defects do not touch Him and He is pure. Therefore, the 'puritan' meaning is attirbuted to the term 'andhanan'. Further, svami Nam AzvAr has also used this term as 'Azip padai andhanan' 'ஆழிப௠படை அநà¯à®¤à®©à®©à¯ˆ' . The andhanan adorning sanku and sakkaram. We dont see any brahmins adorning these. Thus, we see PeriyavAchAn piLLai's anlaysis and probing quesitons incisively give out not only the meanings but also splending viewpoints.
