Colorado Srivaishnava Temple

Dear BhAgavathAs,

adiyEn just returned from a short, sudden trip to the US (Colorado Springs was the city), and I had the good fortune of visiting the makeshift Sri Venkateshwara temple of Colorado. Makeshift in the sense, the perumAL and parivAram are staged on the main dais, and the anya-devatAs will be on seperate stands on the side.

adiyEn realizes, the immediate question should be "anya devatAs??"; well, Denver has a huge Indian population, but the Srivaishnava population is relatively small, and they don't have the financial might necessarily to pull off a "pucca" Srivaishnava temple right from the word go. But, once the temple is constructed perumAL and parivaram will be the only deities in the temple hall. Other devatAs will be housed in a seperate building, there won't be any agama violations.

 

So who are the main vigrahams??

 

1) PerumAL SreedEvi bhoodEvi - PerumAL is a replica of theruzhundUr "Amaruviappan". Very beautiful.

2) AlamElu mangA thAyar - thAyar remains true to "agalagillEn irayum endru..."; once again she replicates her vigraham in Tirpathi.

3) Sri RAma parivaram

4) AzhwAr, EmperumAnAr and Jeeyar. The vigrahams are all of good size, and they are just very beautiful and dazzling.

 

Agamam: PAncharAthram

SampradAyam: ThennAchArya Srivaishnava Sampradayam.

 

adiyEn was very surprised and frankly, very impressed with whatever work is going on. The board-members are very down-to-earth bhAgawatAs, who are also big materialistic achievers (and they are also big time donors, one of the board members has donated the complete land for the temple: More than 5 acres in an area where the NFL stars live!!). They are all well-guided by SrimAn Mohan Sagar swAmin.

 

And the location of the temple: Right in the middle of the Colorado Rocky mountains, in a beautiful, serene place called "Castle Rock".

 

adiyEn prays to the success of the temple and urges all our Srivaishava brethen in the US (and world over) to visit this wonderful temple and support in anyway possible. Once again, the perumAL are just too awesome (sorry, adiyEn just couldn't avoid using this adjective!!) and glorious.
