Sriman NAthamunikaL was an expert in yOga rahasyam. He was a musical genius.

The King of the place learnt about The Great AchAryA and wanted to see the wonder himself. He, along with his wives, visited the temple of Lord mannanAr and after worshipping Him, saw the wonderous swAmi nAthamunikaL in yOga, and then left for his place. However, going by "thiruvuDai mannarai kaNil tirumAlaik kaNdEnEyennum"-4-4-8 of thiruvAimozhi.திரà¯à®µà¯à®Ÿà¯ˆ மனà¯à®©à®°à¯ˆ காணிலà¯,, The king and his consorts appeared as Lord and His gOpikAs,to Sri NathaMunikaL. The enchanted swAmi followed them under this notion upto gangaikoNDachOzhapuram. Hearing about this, his disciples, uyyakoNDAr and thirukkurugaikAvalappar went after him and found him at gangaikoNDachOzhapuram. They asked him if it was right to do like this. To this swAmi nAthamunikaL explained that he thought they were krishNa and His consorts. "krishNanum peNdukaLumAga niNaiththu avarkaLuDanE vandhEn".

One another time, the king came to worship Lord mannanAr and while returning, he put his foot on the head of his attendant and climbed onto the back of his elephant. To nAthamunikaL, it appeared as if the Lord was putting His feet on the heads of the likes of brahma and rudra while climbing on to the back of periya thiruvaDi(garuDAzhwAr). "sarvESwaran brahmarudrAdhikaL thalaiyilE aDiyittu periya thiruvaDiyai mERkoLLumpaDi idhuvAkAdhE!"

 

It can be thus observed that the greatest and the one of the earliest AchAryA had also mistaken humans as The Lord and His consorts. The genius in him had given way to the immense devotion in him. The head had given way to the heart, him, resulting in this mistaken identity.
