Guest guest
Sri:Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Thiruppavai and Divyadesams by Sri PB Annangarachariar Swami Pasuram: Etra KalangalDivyadesam: Thirukkannamangai & Thirunarayanapuram There are two divyadesams that are appopriate toexperience through this pasuram. In this pasuram, let us take the word "periyAy!" ("பெரியாயà¯!") as key. When singing about Thirukkannamangai, right at the begining Thirumangai Azhvar sang "perum puRakkadalai" ("பெரà¯à®®à¯ பà¯à®±à®•à¯à®•à®Ÿà®²à¯ˆ") (Periya Thirumozhi 7-10). When finishing this ten and rendering the phalasruti, he sang "viNNil viNNavarAy magizhveydhuvar" ("விணà¯à®£à®¿à®²à¯ விணà¯à®£à®µà®°à®¾à®¯à¯ மகிழà¯à®µà¯†à®¯à¯à®¤à¯à®µà®°à¯") stating the lofty status that His devotees will reach. Sri Krishna who destroyed the enemies ("mARRAr unakku vali tholaindhu" "மாறà¯à®±à®¾à®°à¯ உனகà¯à®•à¯ வலி தொலைநà¯à®¤à¯") did so with the sound of His conch, Panchajanya ("paRRArnadungka mun pAnjchachanniyaththai vAy vaiththapOrERE!பறà¯à®±à®¾à®°à¯ நடà¯à®™à¯à®• à®®à¯à®©à¯ பாஞà¯à®šà®šà®©à¯à®©à®¿à®¯à®¤à¯à®¤à¯ˆ வாய௠வைதà¯à®¤ போரேறே!", "sa ghOShO dhArtarAshtrANAm hrudayA nivyadhArayatஸ கோஶோ தாரà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à®°à®¾à®¶à¯à®Ÿà¯à®°à®¾à®£à®¾à®®à¯ ஹà¯à®°à¯à®¤à®¯à®¾ நிவà¯à®¯à®¤à®¾à®°à®¯à®¤à¯"). When addressing the Lord of Thirukkannamangai, Thirumanagi Azhvar says "veNsangkam onREndhiya kaNNa!வெணà¯à®šà®™à¯à®•à®®à¯ ஒனà¯à®±à¯‡à®¨à¯à®¤à®¿à®¯ கணà¯à®£!" - Periya Thirumozhi 7-10-10). To experience Thirunarayanapuram, let us take"perum pasukkaL ARRap padaiththAn maganE!" ("பெரà¯à®®à¯ பசà¯à®•à¯à®•à®³à¯ ஆறà¯à®±à®ªà¯ படைதà¯à®¤à®¾à®©à¯ மகனே!") as the key phrase. That is "yatirAja sampat kumArA!" ("யதிராஜ சமà¯à®ªà®¤à¯ கà¯à®®à®¾à®°à®¾!"). Yatiraja is Swami Ramanuja who had great scholars who were like cows in front of him ("perum pasukkaL ARRap padaiththAnபெரà¯à®®à¯ பசà¯à®•à¯à®•à®³à¯ ஆறà¯à®±à®ªà¯ படைதà¯à®¤à®¾à®©à¯"). And the Lord of Thirunarayanapuram is his son ("maganமகனà¯"). Additionally, the phrase "ulaginil thORRamAy ninRa sudarE!" ("உலகினில௠தோறà¯à®±à®®à®¾à®¯à¯ நினà¯à®± சà¯à®Ÿà®°à¯‡!") is appropriate for Thirunarayanapuram as well. It was here that the Lord was hidden in an anthill and them came forth showing Himself to the world. Thus, the divyadesams of Thirukkanamangai andThirunarayanapuram are experienced in this pasuram.
