Pasuram: VangakkadalDivyadesam: Srivilliputtur

 

Previously in the pasuram "mAlE maNivaNNa"

("மாலே மணிவணà¯à®£à®¾"), the Lord of

Srivilliputtur, Vatapatrasayee, was experienced.

In this pasuram, the desam of Srivilliputtur itself

is experienced through "aNi pudhuvai" ("அணி

பà¯à®¤à¯à®µà¯ˆ").

 

The divyadesam of Srivilliputtur was sungonly by Peiyazhvar (Periyazhvar Thirumozhi2-2-6) and Andal (Nachchiyar Thirumozhi 5-5).

Periyazhvar speaks of Andal in his pasuramwhile Andal speaks of Periyazhvar in Her pasuram.

 

Periyazhvar sang "minnanaiya nuNNidaiyAr virikuzhal mEl nuzhaindha vaNdu, innisaikkum villipuththUr" ("மினà¯à®©à®©à¯ˆà®¯ நà¯à®£à¯à®£à®¿à®Ÿà¯ˆà®¯à®¾à®°à¯

விரிகà¯à®´à®²à¯ மேல௠நà¯à®´à¯ˆà®¨à¯à®¤ வணà¯à®Ÿà¯,

இனà¯à®©à®¿à®šà¯ˆà®•à¯à®•à¯à®®à¯ விலà¯à®²à®¿à®ªà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à¯‚à®°à¯"). In this

pasuram, the Lord who is a bee ("thUviyam

puLLudaith dheyva vaNduதூவியமà¯

பà¯à®³à¯à®³à¯à®Ÿà¯ˆà®¤à¯ தெயà¯à®µ வணà¯à®Ÿà¯") entering

Andal's hair is brought forth.

 

In Andal's pasuram ("mennadai annam parandhu viLaiyAdum villipuththUrமெனà¯à®©à®Ÿà¯ˆ

அனà¯à®©à®®à¯ பரநà¯à®¤à¯ விளையாடà¯à®®à¯

விலà¯à®²à®¿à®ªà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à¯‚à®°à¯"), Periyazhvar's story of

speaking the Vedanta meanings in the sabha

of the King can be seen. The avatara of the

Lord as Hamsa (annam) is for saving the

Vedas ("annamAy anRangku arumaRaipayandhAnஅனà¯à®©à®®à®¾à®¯à¯ அனà¯à®±à®™à¯à®•à¯

à®…à®°à¯à®®à®±à¯ˆ பயநà¯à®¤à®¾à®©à¯" - Periya Thirumozhi

5-3-8). The avatara of Vishnuchiththa

(Periyazhvar) is for bringing forth the

meanings of all the Vedas ("prAha vEdAn

ashEShAnபà¯à®°à®¾à®¹ வேதாந௠அசேஶாநà¯").

 

Thus, the experience of Srivilliputtur isonly through the greatness of Andal and Periyazhvar. And Srivilliputtur is experienced in this pasuram.
