Swamins!

Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan!!!

Recently i was hearing To u.Ve.Velukkudi Swami's upanyasam.That was

Gajendra moksham episode in which he said that Gajendran had to fight

for 1000yrs before he was saved.The moment he called out Adimulame god

did not delay a moment to save him.

Now my question is does one has to wait so long to be saved?Secondly

does god come only on calling,are not the intetion and devotion enough

to be helped?Or does he wait for us to surrender completely to be saved?

That means no trials from our side at all is it so?

These r my genuine doubts.I am still at my nascent level of

vaishnavism.So do help me.

He will definitely come to the rescue of His devotee provided the devotee feels that every thing is done be Him and the devotee also feels that he is parathanthran and swathantran. In the case of Gajendra, he thought he can win the war fighting by himself. But after thousand years finally he realised that he is not swathanthran and only He can rescue him. After this gnanam he did saranagathi and called Him. Immediately He landed there and helped him.

He can help him by siting in his place. But to accept the flower from him He came rushing and saved him and also accepted the flower from him.

Hi Kamini

 

God has got form and no form. When you are concentrating a form of god always in mind(extreme Maha vishnu) - will come and protect immediately when you are in a dying stage(at that time you have to forget your body - but when you are in a normal situation god never comes because everything happening in this world is karma(duty)bondage. If you wanted to know about God (Maha vishnu) I will send you a power point presentation

Our Srivaisnava tradition insists that one should not pray god for any

material things (even praying for rescue, or from bad state), but should

be interested only in doing kaingariyam(Service to the lord without any

expectation). Srivaisnavism says complete surrender to the god. If the

devotee has made complete surrender to the god which means faith in

whatever happens / happening is as per Sriman narayana's wish.

Ex: Once Ananthalwan(thirumala) was bite by a snake. When his family

forced him to get medical attention, he replied that he need no

medicines because if the god wants to keep in thirumala the will perform

service to Srinivasa, if he takes his life, then he will continue his

service at Sri vaikundam. This is the one of examples from our

poorvacharya's.

If we go through Ramanuja noothranthadi(107th verse) Inbutrasellathu

Ramanuja, we can clearly understand even if we get any worst disease or

we are in bad state, we should only pray to get to the association of

devotees of sri Ramanjua(thiruvadi samabantha of Ramanuja -Uivuku ore

vazhi udayavar thiruvadi - the only way to salvation is Lotus Feet of

Ramanuja).

When koorathalwan lost his eyes, he didn't ask god for eyes, even when

his acharya told him to praise vardharaja and ask eyes. He satisfied his

guru's order and done skthorams on Vardharaja, but when vardharaja asked

him what he wanted, he didn't ask for the eyes, but asked the nalloran

the traitor to get moksha.

After killing hiranayakachipu, sri narshima told Bhatkha prakalathada to

ask any boon. but prakalatha told god that he need no boon, if at all

asked him to give the position not to any ask boon.

A true devotee is neither happy when he get things nor sad when he lose

material things. At both the state he keeps balance mind and does pure

service to god and his devotees..

 

Also Lord is the swamy(owner of the property- jivathma's). Suppose you

have a car, the car doesn't take care of itself. you are it's owner and

you do the cleaning and whatever. The car never tries to take care of

itself.

Similarly jeevathama should not try to take care of himself, in the

sense he should not pray the god for his self desires and convert the

god to business man( who takes money and gives the thing).

A true prapannan( one who have done a complete surrender to the god)

will not pray god for self desires or even if he is in great trouble

just to get rid of the tough time.

When god himself is so merciful, then if you pray then it means we are

limiting his mercy.

Adiyen ramanuja dasiA simple attempt to reply to Kaminis question.Yes it did take 1000 deva varsha for gajendhra to be saved by Srimannarayana.Gaja Akarshathi Theere Graah Akarshathi jale.both the crocodile tried to pull the elephant into the water and the Elephnt inti the bank.Our lord dislikes joint ventures.tHERE IS A CONCEPT CALLED sWARAKSHANEsWAANVAYAM which means as ling as a soul tries to protect itself god never arrives into the picture.One has to completely surrender without any attempt to protect themselves.It took 1000years for the elephant Gajendran to realise that the ultimate rakshakan is only Srimannarayanan.EASWARANAI OZHIYA RAKSHAKAN ILLAI ENBADAI PRAPANNA PARITHRAANATHULE SONNOM.says pllai lokachariar in his mumukshupadi.Besides lord knew its intention of

survival was to serve the lord with the lotus that it had.So you see he waited for gajendran to call out on him because god wanted him to stop all the attempts to save himself on his own and also he knew his pure intentions of doing pushpa kainkaryam to lord.     Says who that we dont need to do anything to attain salvation.This will be a little hard to understand.As an means to an end we are not supposed to do karmas.Al;l the karmas we do must be to make the lord happy.Swaroopena we cant afford to forego any karmas but as upaayam or praapagam we must do nothing.But at the same time we must qualifyourselves by all means to attain moksham.That in sampradayam is known as adhikaari viseshanam.Though Easwaran knows what is in our hearts we are bound to ask for  what we want..That is chaitanya Vyaavarthi vesham.That differenciates jeevatmas from Acit tathvam which has no wisdom at all.The term purushaartham itself means whatever the

I appreciate ur explanation.Again we have not attained the status of azwars or acharyans.They had real bhakthi and faith.To get such a bhakthi or faith i don't know how long it will take.Again u have given example about a car not taking care of itself.But that is achit.Should we remain like that.Then what difference between chit and achit.

Please don't think i am questioning what u have said.These r only my thoughts.They may be right or wrong.If any thing is wrong please pardon me.
