Very good analysis.I just want to add one more point as regards god's presence in case of Gajendra.This i heard in the upanyasam.He said that he could have killed the crocodile from where HE was but He came as u said rightly to accept the flower and HE can do sadhu rakshanam only when HE comes Himself.This is a quote from Anantha padmanabha swami's upanyasam. But, they are undergoing pleasure and pain; because they attach themselves too much to the created portion( Samsara). This kind of experience is inevitable as long as they are in samsara. Now, let us analyze the episode of Gajendra Moksham.Gajendra,the mighty elephant, an ardent devotee of the Lord got entangled with the crocodile. He might have thought he can dispose of the insect easily because of his might and proceed with his worship.But that was not an easy affair and he had to struggle for a long period. Rather, it took long time for him to think of Lord and the Lord allowed him to try his effort as long as he believed in his powers. The moment he realized his helplessness and cried AADHIMOOLAE, the Lord appeared in the scene and rescued him.Another episode of Draupadi,Another ardent devotee of Lord Krishna.An innocent lady was dragged to the court of Duryodhana and was disgraced.She is a princess full of royal blood and at the same time devotee of Lord Krishna.It is quite right on her part to seek justice and help from the nobles present in the courtBut all were helpless and could not come to save her. The only person who can save her is Lord Krishna In despair she desisted from her further efforts to save herself from disgrace and raised her hand and cried “GOVINDAâ€( are you blind I am in distress) I surrender to you SAVE ME. The very instant help was provided. She was saved But, Krishna was not present there,OKThe Lord was present in the case of Gajendra but, He did not present himself in the case of Draupadhi. Why? . In the case of Gajendra, he wanted to submit the lotus flower at Lord!s feet. After a long fight, naturally he will be tired and it is natural that Lord should present himself to receive it and to console him.In the case of Drupadhi, she did not ask for His presence. Her request was to save her from disgrace which was promptly provided.In both the cases, Gajendra and Draupadhi acted as they should do under normal circumstances. But, the redress was beyond their means. It can be done by Lord only.He will definitely do it .But, he allows his devotees with their choices. He fulfill their wishes at the very instance it is asked.He will never let down his devotees. But they should rely on HIM ONLY. It is indeed a wonderful ongoing discussion on prapatti and saranagati.Your explanation on presence of Sriman Narayana on the ardent devotee's call or rescuing the devotee by mere wish by HIM is vivid and lucid. Adien would like to add that no one in the court of Dirudirashtra knew who the saviour is going to be till they heard the name of GOVINDA, called out by Draupati.every one WAS BLIND AND HELPLESS, a sin created by their action/inaction. Only Draupati could see HIM and she was rescued and protected. Krishna possibly did not want to show his presence to others to make them realise their mistakes/misdeeds. In the case of Gajendra, He made his presence AT ONCE AND PRATYASHAM because Gajendra had surrendered to the ULTIMATE Sriman Narayana. As far as pranavam is concerned It has akaaram+aaya+ukaaram+makaaram.A AVARAKSHANE iS THE ROOT FROM WHICH THIS WORD HAS BEEN DERIVED.tHIS MEANS RAKSHAKATHVAM.Since the expression is plain it means that sarva desa sarva kala sarvaavasthochitha sarva prakaara rakshanam.Akaaraartho vishnuhu says Swamy parasara Bhattar. There is a luptha CHATHURTHI VIBHAKTHI.Hidden vibhakthi Aaya Thaadharthye chaturthi.Then comes Ukaaram which means avdhaaranaarthe ukaaram.This prevents anya seshathvam and ensures ananyaarha seshathvam of the soul. Angu nami bhalam ingu nama bhalam..God did not personally come to rescue draupadhi because Pandavargalai nirasikka praapthamaa irukka vaithadhu draupadiin mangala soothrathirkaaga. pandavas even could not behave like ordinary husbands who certainly would have rushed to their spouses rescue.Secondly aftershe did prapathi a Bhagavath saranaarthi should have been saved under all the circumstances in which they failed miserably.These are the reasons why kannan personally did not rescue draupadhi.
