Guest guest
Dear Shri Padmanabhan Svami,I stand corrected too ! And, grateful immensely !So, the proper reading is "vArA aruvAi etc". It occurred to me (~~ no presumptuous interpretation to offer on my own!) that AzhvAr first encounters dismay that, being formless (by 'formless' we should read 'transcending all form'), the Lord would not come nigh ("vArA aruvAi"). AzhvAr quickly recovers and hails the Lord, "Oh, there you be, my Lord of mAyA ~~ mAyA=prakRti, the one who is Sri ~~ so personified and manifest ! ("varum enn ... mAyA-mUrtiyAi").This alternating mood of dismay and recovery, at the non-manifest and the comprehended aspects of the Lord, seems to agree with the anti-thetical pair of attributes in the sahasra-nAmam, "adRSyO, vyakta-rUpaS-cha".I would reiterate that I am not proposing a vyAkhyA of my own, but I am humbly curious to know if what I suggest is reflected in any of the venerated commentaries constituting the bhagavad-vishayam.aDiyEn tirumanjanam Sundara Rajan. Most of the people chant as 'vArA varuvAi varum en mAyA/ ’வாரா வரà¯à®µà®¾à®¯à¯ வரà¯à®®à¯†à®©à¯ மாயா!மாயா மூரà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à®¿à®¯à®¾à®¯à¯-5-8-10; AzvAr expresses that EmperumAn is not showing Himself with His Divya MangaLa vigraham but only in formless form-arUpam- This is expressed by the term-aru vAi. However, we hear the chanting as 'vArA varuvAi' -just meaning that the Lord is not coming. The tenth pAsuram of this TriuvAimozhi shoud be chanted as 'vArA aruvAi varum en mAyA! mAyA mUrthiyAI-வாரா à®…à®°à¯à®µà®¾à®¯à¯ வரà¯à®®à¯ என௠மாயா மாயா à®®à¯à®°à¯à®¤à¯à®¤à®¿à®¯à®¾ 5-8-10 of TiruvAimozhi.
