We would like to invite you all for the Upanyaasams that are planned as part of Sri Koorathazhwan's 1000th year Mahotsava Celebrations.

This being the 1000th year, we are planning to have continuous upanyaasams (one or more upanyaasams per month, during the weekends) starting from 29thMarch2009.

It will be conducted in various towns/cities by several Vidvaans and we will keep you posted on the same.

 

Here is the schedule for the first few upanyaasams.

 

1) March29th2009 - Starting at Kooram village at 2pm. Upanyaasams by Sri.K.B.Devarajan swamy and Sri..T.A.Srinidhi swamy. We are also arranging van/bus for one day trip on that day from Chennai. We will start at 6.30am and have perumal sevai at Poonamalle, Sriperumbudur, Kanchi and reach Kooram before 2pm. We will finish the upanyaasam and go to Thiruputkuzhi temple and then return back to Chennai in the evening. Interested people can contact at 044-28447520 or 9710321166.. Food will also be arranged for people coming in van/bus.

 

2) April_5th2009 - At Melkote, upanyaasam by Arayar.Sri.Sriram Iyengar swamy at 3pm. This falls on sunday, being the next day to Vairamudi sevai.

 

3) April_26th2009 - At Sriperumbudur, upanyaasam by Sri.Embaar Jeeyar swamy and Sri.Thirukkotiyur Madhavan swamy. This falls during Udayavar utsavam.

 

4) Tentative - May_9th and May_10th2009 - At Srirangam, upanyaasam by around eight vidvaans in Srirangam.

 

5) Tentative - June_7th_2009 - At Kanchi, vidvaan not yet finalized, it falls on 4th day utsavam of Thevaperumal.

 

We invite you all for all the upanyaasams planned as part of Sri Koorathazhwan's 1000th year Mahotsavam.

 

NOTE: We have created a new committee named "SRI KOORATHAZHWAN's 1000th YEAR MAHOTSAVA COMMITTEE" which will be organized all the events related to this 1000th year celebrations. We request you to kindly contact us if you have any query.
