Sri:

Srimate Ramanujaya Nama:

A tour to amass wealth!    Well…does ‘tour’ and ‘wealth’ sound contradictory?  No, it shouldn’t, at least in this context.  This is a tour to amass loads of invaluable spiritual treasure.  Both, worldly and spiritual tours entail enormous erosion of monetary wealth.  But the prior gives short-lived sensuous pleasure while the latter, a permanent enlightenment and enriching wisdom!  So, are all spiritual enthusiasts geared for this pious picnic organized by Srimaan Trust?

Background:

Its summer time and Bhattar kuzham and Bhattar Gurukulam kids are off school.  Sending them to Ooty and Kodaikanal wouldn't be worth a penny. Why not take refuge at the Feet of Deivanayaga perumal (Vaanamamalai) and SriVaishnava Nambi (Thirukkurungudi)?  Their pleasant abode would shelter us from the scorching sun and they would shield us from the heat of samsaaram!

Srimaan Trust has planned a 3 day camp exclusively at Vaanamalalai and Thirukkurungudi.  Students from Bhattar Kuzham and Gurukulam would travel accompanied by the volunteers of Trust.  They would be lead by our Founder Acharya, Sri Parasara BadriNarayana Bhattar swamy.

Purpose of stay and schedule :

A close study of the Divya-desams by the students is planned.  Each student would examine the temple, each of the sanctums, the adjoining sacred pond and the history of the temple.   They would also analyze the pasurams of Azhwars  for each of the D.Desams and try to physically locate the places and specialties mentioned therein!

Vanamalalai and Thirukkurungudi muths, quite famous for their prestigious pedigree of anchorites (Jeeyars) would also be examined in detail.  The students would first pay obeisance to the present Jeeyars and seek Their benediction. Under Their honorable aegis, they would learn the history of each of the past Jeeyar swamys.  Their lives, sampradayic study underwent by them, their kainkaryams at various divya desams and all such details would be documented by the students. Each student would endeavor to master the life of a Jeeyar.  Equipped with this knowledge, and with all reverence, they would tread their way to the Thiruvarasu (the Sacred grave) of the Jeeyars and venerate them.

A  number of Sampradayic crafts like weaving thoranam, displaying kolam, the art of Srivaishnava Thadeeyaradhanam (ie. the dos and donts while serving food for Srivaishnavas), making pavithram, poonal etc would also be taught.  In addition, one stotra will be taught and mastered by the students amidst their feverish schedule

Such a tour filled with spirituality is once a decade event.  The raw Bhakthi and infectious enthusiasm of kids is indescribable.  It should only be experienced and nourished. This is an opportunity to be with them and enjoy the Divya desams .

So we request each of you to take a couple of days off the humdrum routine of the monotonous and congested city life and join us in this blissful journey!

 An ardent appeal:

The tour involves a lot of expenditure…from hiring charges of vehicle to accommodation for the kids, there is monetary outflow at every stage.  Hence we fervently appeal the ever supportive donors to help us meet those monetary needs.
