Nee edhanai pEsu – please tell us about this ennE – What a surprise!  Introduction  When you are capable of changing your nature to fulfill the wishes of those prayojanantharaparas (who surrender for a cause) will you not do the jobs of ananyaprayojanas (wanting nothing else than emperuman himself) like me, wonders azhvar.  Commentary  (mun vulagam vundu vumizhindhAikku) In the very beginning during the time of pralaya Sriman Narayana placed all the worlds inside his stomach and protected without any damage. Later during the time of Srushti (Cosmic Creation), for the welfare of the chetanas the Lord created the world as it is.  Here azhvar says just two acts, swallowing and throwing out the worlds indirectly indicating all other acts of the Lord. “padaiththidandhu vundu vumizhindhu thErindhu vulagaLikkum†[Thiruvasiriyam 6] “parandha deivamum pallulagum padaiththu andRudanE vizhungi karandhu vumizhindhu edandhadhu†[Thiruvaimozhi 4-10-3]  (avvulagam eeradiyAl pinnaLandhu kOdal perithondrE) While cotton is spun into cloth it undergoes 12 stages of processing viz:- Removing the seeds; Beating; Rolling; Making thread (Yarning); Spinning; Weaving; Folding; Selling; Washing; Drying; Wearing; Tearing;  Similar to the above the world undergoes processing in the hands of the Supreme Lord. But hiding the same the Lord appears in front of mahabali and begs for 3 foot of land and as if he has got something great measures the worlds with his divine two feet filled with extreme joy.  Is this a big job?  (ennE!) While comparing with your greatness the above is a very small happening.  Why are people crediting you greatly for this small thing? Wonders azhvar and further continues to explain the greatness of the Supreme Lord who did all the above  (thirumAlE) Name any wealth in this world, it belongs to that Sridevi nachiyar and She is your property (thiruvukkum thiruvAgiya selva) and You went in front of Mahabali as a begger….  (senkaN) Your red eyes are enough to hint your Supremacy over the two vibhuthis (ubhaya vibhuthi) along with Sridevi Herself. But You went in front of Mahabali as a beggar to beg your own property.  (nediyAnE) Your greatness is immeasurable but You dressed Yourself to be a beggar.  (engal perumAnE) Oh! Master of ananyaprayojanas like me. You did all these to fulfill the wish of Indra (a prayojanantharapara).  (nee edhanai pEsu) Only You can explain this irony.  “eththiram!†[Thiruvaimozhi 1-3-1] wonders nammazhvar Thereby peyazhvar concludes that when the Lord put himself so low for the sake of Indra who was only interested in getting back his wealth, he will surely take care of the ananyaprayojanas like azhvar.  Azhvar emperumAnAr Jeeyer thiruvadigalE sharaNam Adiyen ramanuja dAsan/dAsee Varadarajan/Sumithra
