There are many forms of the Lord associated with individual SaaLigramams . There is a mnograph (may be out of print)on how to identify them and which one are not to be acquired for house hold AarAdhanam. SaaLagramam worship is easy to perform . Usually , Sri VaishNavite households have their SaaLigramams handed thru generations .At the time of Family celebrations , the elder blesses the next generation with the present of a SaaLigrAmam . Lot of people today have SaaLigramams in their poojA Grahams and do not know what Moortham they have. Outstanding collection of SaaLigramams are at MalOlan Sannidhi , which have been in AarAdhanam by the revered Jeeyars of Ahobila matam for centuries. Next time , You visit MalOlan Sannidhi , You can have the darsanam of these SaaLagrAma Moorthams , Some of them are very rare forms like having Sri Narasimhan on one side and Sri Sudarsanam on the Other side. At Kanchipuram VaradarAja perumAL Koil , you will have the opportunity to haev the darsanam of many Sudarsana SaaLigraamams at Sudarsanar Sannidhi. When Prakritham Srimad Azhagiya Singar graced our home, our family could have darshanams of almost all Saligramams. I have been able to find some pictures which covered Srimad Azhagiya Singar's Visit. I will scan them and make them available to Bhaktas soon. SaaligrAmam divya desam is in Nepal. Usually in the month of May-June there are arranged trips to this Divya Desam and other North Indian Divya Desams from Bangalore itself. I will keep you informed about the same. SaaLigrama Dhivya desam is 60 miles west of Kahtmandu , Nepal on the bank of GhaNtaki river. It is on the way to Mukti Naarayana KshEthram (in Nepal), which is another 100 miles away. One can fly into Kahtmandu and get the permission of the Nepal government to visit SaaLigramam . Sri ParthasArathy Dileepan of this list has visited Saaligramam two or three summers back and I recall that he used a helicopter to access . He will be able to share with you the hazards of this journey and the need to plan well and arrive at the right season. The Nepalese Consulate/embassy here can provide also detailed information . Currently i have santhana gopalan in my house and daily rituals are being performed. Some people say that we should have saligram only in Odd numbers and others say it should be in even numbers. How many we can have. Adiyeans father is going to muktinath yathra this month.
