Thanks Sri Ranganathan for continuing to take part in azhvan's divine kainkaryam (Please see the answer for question(5) from Sri Ranganathan below).  It will be more interesting if more bhagavatas join this kainkaryam.  You can also send your questions based on Swamy koorathAzhvan's pancha stavams.

Question (6) for the next posting:

Who

is bhagavan? As stated by Swamy koorathazhvan.KooraththAzhvan thiruvadigalE sharaNam

SrImathE rAmAnujAya namahSrI KoorEsAya namahSrImath varavaramunayE namahQuestion:Whom does Sri KoorathAzhvan celebrate as Sriyasri: (“thiruvukkum thiruvAgiya selva!â€) – 2 slokas from 2 different stavams having the same first 2 lines but slightly vary in the last 2 lines.

Answer:The two slOkams which are similar are the 29th slOkam of SrIVaikuntasthavam and 69th slOkam of SundarabAhusthavam. Both contain reference to SriyahSrI:.The 29th slOkam of SrIVaikunTasthavam runs thus:

yasyAh katAkshaNamanukshaNamIshvarANAmaishvaryahEthurithi sarvajanInamEthath,thAm SrIrithi thvadupasamSrayaNAnnirAhu:thvAm hi ca SriyaSSriyamudAhurudAravAca:It is accepted by everyone that PirATTi, for every moment, is the cause of prosperity of Indra and other devas. That PirATTi has submitted Herself to You (and become what She is). That is how She is described by the word SrI: (- SrayathE ithi SrI:). Those with words of grace like Thirumangai AzhwAr/ALavandAr also describe You as ThiruvukkunthiruvAgiya selvan/kah SrI: Sriyah.

The 69th slOkam of SundarabAhusthavam goes as:yasyAh katAkshaNamanukshaNamIshvarANAmaishvaryahEthurithi sarvajanInamEthath,SrIssEthi sundaranishEvaNathO nirAhu: thvAm hi SriyaSSriyamudAhurudAravAca:

It is accepted by everyone that PirATTi, for every moment, is the cause of prosperity of Indra and other devas. It is only because of submitting Herself to the Sundaran(Azhagar), that She is described by the word SrI: (- SrayathE ithi SrI:). Those with words of grace like Thirumangai AzhwAr/ALavandAr also describe You as ThiruvukkunthiruvAgiya selvan/kah SrI: Sriyah.

Adiyen would like to write about what adiyen heard about the pasuram in

devareer's message title.

It is from Ramanusa Nootrandhadhi of Thiruvarangathu Amudhanar, of course, which

goes like:

Mozhiyai Kadakkum perumpugazhan vanja mukkurmbam

Kuzhiyai kadakkum nam Koorathazhvan charaN koodiya pin

Pazhiyai kadathum iramanusan pugazh paadi allaa

Vazhiyai kadathal enakkini yaadhum varuthamandre.

The obvious meaning is that after Thiruvarangathu Amudhanar got the charaN of

Koorathaazhvan, Thiruvaragathu Amudhanaar's happiness lies in singing praises of

Iramanusan who takes care of removing our papams (pazhiyai kadathum iramanusan).

In the above meaning, 'koorathazvan charan koodiya pin' is attached to

thiruvarangathu amudhanar, as he became deciple of Koorathazhvan.

The other better meaning is when it is attached to Sri Ramanujar,

when read as 'Koorathazhvan charaN koodiya pin pazhiyai kadathum Iramanusan'!

That is, after Sri Ramanujar got Koorathazhvar as his diciple, THEN Ramanujar is

better able to remove all our sins!

adiyen dasan.
