Guest guest
Sri:Srimate Ramanujaya namahaSrimad Varavara Munaye namahaDear Srivaishnava Bhagavathas, Pranams. Due to Swami Emberumanar’s nirhetuka krupai and with Sri.U.Ve.Velukkudi Krishnan Swami’s continued support for the program, VEDICS FOUNDATION is delighted to announce the next module in the “Be a Ramanuja Sambandhi†program. We successfully finished “Vedartha Sangraham†course from January to August of 2009. Now it is time start the next course. The next module is “YatÄ«ndra Mata DÄ«pikÄâ€. What are we learning? With “Vedarta Sangraham†we learnt the basics of Visishtadvaitam and the greatness of Swami Ramanuja in establishing those concepts and categorically defeating the arguments of advaitins and others. “YatÄ«ndra Mata DÄ«pikĆprovides us an opportunity to further strengthen these concepts and sets a strong platform for further studies. Since the time that can be devoted for the study of larger treatises is limited, there arose naturally a need for the presentation of facts in a small compass. This led to the writing of prakarana-granthas. One such prakarana-grantha written specifically for the benefit of young students is “YatÄ«ndra Mata DÄ«pikÄâ€. This grantham is written by Sri.Vadhula Srinivasarya Swami, who lived towards the end of the sixteenth century. He has closely followed the works of purvacharyas and has divided his work into ten chapters or avatars. So we will be learning fundamentals of Visishtadvaita Philosophy based on “YatÄ«ndra Mata DÄ«pikÄ" written by Sri. Vadhula Srinivasarya Swami. Sri. U.Ve.Krishnaswami Iyengar has written a Tamil elaboration for these granthams. Ramakrishna Mission has published an English Translation and Sri Andavan Ashramam has published a Tamil book on these granthams. We will be using these books also for learning. Who is the Teacher? This course will be taught by Sri.U.Ve.Bharatan Swami, Srirangam. He is a young Sanskrit scholar who has left his loukika job and fully entrusted himself to our sampradayam and currently teaching sanskrit to young students in Kinchitkaram Trust pathasala in Srirangam. Sri Bharatan swamy is 31 years old. He is a mimamsa siromani from Mylapore sanskrit college. He has translated tiruppavai and tiruppalliezhuchi as sanskrit poems. He is currently learning Sri Bhashyam and Bhagavath Vishayam from Sri.U.Ve. Narasimhacharyar Swami, Srirangam When does the course start? The course will start from Sunday, 17th January, 2010.The timings are 8:30 - 10:00 PM Indian Standard Time, 10:00 – 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time, USA (Every Saturday and Sunday) Course FeeMembers in USA: $75 - out of this $25 will be used for Swami Koorathazhvan’s 1000th year celebrations.Payable by Check favoring “Vedics Foundation†or by PayPalMembers in India: Rs.2000, Payable by Check favoring “Kinchitkaram Trustâ€.
