Sri:Srimate Ramanujaya nama:

The

eyes stand testimony to the skillful hand of the supreme sculptor Lord

SrimanNarayana.  Eyes are the prime link between a human being and the external

world.

In

Srivaishnava sampradayam, the netram(eye) is employed towards the service of

Prameyam (SrimanNarayana), Pramaanams( scriptures) and Pramathas (Acharyas).  It

is with these pair of eyes that we relish the sparkling and blemishless beauty

of Perumal. We quench the bhakthi bhaava overflowing from our hearts by

worshipping the pristine divya mangala vigraham of the Lord with the eyes bestowed

by him.

To

realize the Supremacy of Emperumaan and to imbibe the import of His innumerable

virtues, study of pramaanams is very essential.  Here too our faithful netram

abides unrelentingly.

All

knowledge that we’ve acquired has emanated from the divine soul of our

Acharyan.  But for his timely guidance we would have been drowned in the ocean of

samsaram.  To perform various kainkaryams to Acharyan, our eyes jubilantly

cooperate with us.That the eyes need proper care and protection is an

understatement, especially in the student phase of life. We were frequently

tested for eye-related ailments at our schools and our parents took us to the

nearby eye clinics quite often.  But what is the state of orphans, children away

from parents and children who can’t afford to get their eyes checked?

         Realizing

the need to provide crucial eye care to the young kids, Srimaan Bhattar

Gurukulam conducted an eye camp to test the Gurukulam students for all eye

related ailments. SriRamanuja siddanta vidyapeetam and Bhattarpiran veda

patasala  students were also tested.  The

Trust used the services of SriVasan Eye Care centre.

         Students of both gurukulams gathered

at a common place and the doctors tested them for possible eye-related problems.

A few kids had high eye power and were recommended eyeglasses. One child required a

cataract operation while others had normal eyesight.

Sri Vasudevan of Bangalore, Sri Dr. Anand, Maruti

Hospital, Sri. Venkatraman, GM,  were instrumental in the materialization

of the Eye camp.  Sri.Vasudevan, blessed with a benevolent disposition, has sponsored

the camp expenses.

We fervently request everyone to support the Gurukulam

students. Periya perumal has gifted them to us with a condition.  We are vested

with the duty of nurturing them, making them strong pillars on whose shoulders

our Sampradayam shall rest fearlessly.  Once we bring them to such a state, we

shall re-gift them back to Lord Ranganatha. We would have, at the end of the

day, brought a serene smile on the Tirumukham of the Lord! The photos are attached.
