Sri:

Srimate Ramanujaya nama:“Shareeramadhyam khalu dharma saadhanam”

As per the above Sanskrit quote, physical body is necessary to perform any act of Dharma. Hence maintaining a healthy physique is the basic ingredient for performing dharma incessantly and with a high energy level. In Srivaishnava sampradhyam, this physical body (shariram) is meant for doing kainkaryams to Sriman Narayanan, Acharyas and  Bhagavathas. Nourishing the physical body thus becomes mandatory. When a person's mind is prepared for selfless kainkaryam, then He/She must remember that taking care of self also becomes a part of the kainkaryam, for, without a proper self there cannot be selfless service.

That the body needs utmost nourishment is an understatement, especially in the student phase of life. Realizing the need to provide utmost physical care to  the future selfless Kainkarya Srimaans, Srimaan Bhattar Gurukulam made an initiative to prepare fruit salad with almost all varieties of fruits that provide all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and basic nutrients to Gurukulam students.

Srimaan Trust is not just interested in physical well being of the students of Gurukulam but also in their Athmas' well being. Anything that is first not served to Emperumaan before gulping down the throat takes the form of poison. Such food may help grow the cells of the body but not the soul taking refuge in the body. Hence, our volunteers are very particular at imparting among the Gurukulam students, this habit of offering any eatable to Emperumaan before partaking it. It is quite a pleasure seeing the Gurukulam students rush to Perumal sannidhi every time they receive an eatable be it a handful of dry fruits or even an occasional piece of Karkandu! Who else can we thank other than Periya perumal for gifting us with these gem-like kids.

The speciality of this great service is “The preparation of salad” as it was done by our KAINKARYA SREE members. Our volunteers were involved in this service with great interest and enthusiasm. It was a delight to see our volunteers prepare the fruit salad prasadam. Any selfless service always fills the atmosphere with holy reverberations. Such was the experience at Gurukulam. The soft hands of the children clasping the salad cup and the joyful radiance in their face putting the prideful moon to shame could turn the hardest of metals into molten. Why not our hearts then!! What more divine pleasure can we yearn for??

We fervently request everyone to support the Gurukulam students. Periya perumal has gifted them to us with a condition. We are vested with the duty of nurturing them, making them strong pillars on whose shoulders our Sampradayam shall rest fearlessly. Once we bring them to such a state, we shall re-gift them back to Periya Perumal. We would have, at the end of the day, brought a serene smile on the Tirumukham of Periya Perumal!
