SRIMATHEY RAMANUJAYA NAMAHARespected Bhagavatha Bandhus,Thanyosmi, many of u have commented on the earlier article,(the number 18) thanks for the encouragement, this gives adiyen a little courage to write another article "one and only" with grace of Swami Ramanujathis is only "salamilla anilum polein" effort,

please pardon adiyen's mistakes.The phrase" one and only"

denotes the following qualitiesa)outstanding positionb)singularityc)unique character & d)supremacy1) The Lord Sriman Naranya is indeed first in everything, he was the one and only being in existence,when there was nothing prior to creation, and is the reason for everything manifested, is manifesting, and yet to manifest, he is the foundation of everything. The Mahoupanishad clearly states "Eko ha Vai Naryana Aaseet na bramhaana na eesaana", the other upanishad states " Suddho Deva Eka Narayana:". it states that he is the one and only reality,and all other were born thorough him. Vyasar wrote Vedantha sutram and wherein he ascertained the supremacy of Sriman Narayana in his sutram clearly states ELSEWHERE AFTER CAREFUL EXAMINATION OF THE SACRED TEXTS (ALODHYA SARVA SASTRANI) AND AFTER REPEATED INVESTIGATIONS INTO THEIR PURPORT, WE COME TO ONE OBVIOUS CONCLUSION (VICHARYA CHA PUNA: PUNA:, IDAM EKAM SUNISHBANDHAM) DIETY TO BE MEDITATED UPON AT ALL TIMES IS NARAYANA (DHEYEYO NARAYANA: SADHA)and raised his hand above his head three times and proclaimed that Sriman Narayana is the one and only Parathvam (SATHYAM SATHYAM PUNA; SATHYAM..... VEDA SASTRAM PARAM NAASTI..NA DEIVAM KESAVATH PARAM)One can pile up more and more

agamas,puranas, ithihasas, samhitas,and upanishads about the

supremacy of Sriman Narayana, after Vyasa Deva's statement, quoted above there is no need for more proofs2)When Gajendra called "AdhimoolamE!"

(Primordial Chief!), it is not the name of any god, he called please note it is just calling the one and only primordial chief, the first one the Parthvam no body dared come claiming for the "AdhimoolamE" Post, it is our sweet lord Sriya: Pathi: Sriman Narayana who appeared immediately on garuda and saved the elephant. But it is Vedas ( which are eternal and apaurushEyam) that proclaim that Sriman Narayana is the supreme god head, in this world and in the next (Sivan himself tells to Parvathi to utter Rama Namam when enquired by her as to which is equal to the Thousands names of Maha Vishnu Do we need any other proof?)3)AUM is the one and only single syllable which is called the PRANAVA MANTRA,In Bhagavth Geetha Sri Krishna states

Of maharishis, I am Bhrigu;

among words, I am the single syllable ‘om’;

among

yagñas, I am japa;

among stationary objects, I am the Himalayas. Aum is said to be the essence of all mantras, the highest of all mantras or divine word (shabda), brahman (ultimate reality) itself. Aum is said to be the

essence of the Vedas. A is Bhagavan, (Akara shabdha)U is Sri (Ukara shabdha)M is Chetanam (Makara shabdha) (embodied soul).4)Thrivikravam was the one and only emperumaan who measured the whole universe in 1 stepaazhi yezha chchangum villum ezha, dhisaivaazhi yezhath thaNdum vaaLu mezha, aNdammOzhai yezha mudi paadha mezha, appanoozhi yezha ulagham goNta vaaRE. This pAsuram is about Thrivikramavataar. - Bhagawaan Thrivikraman, when He took the Huge, Large, Great, Grand, Form to measure the universe, firstly, the ChakratthAzhwAn appeared. Then Sanghu and Kothandam (Divine Conch and Bow) appeared. From all directions, there were sounds of greetings that emanated with "Vaazhgha; Vaazhgha". Subsequently, The maze and the Sword appeared. Like the fountain of water that just spurts out spontaneously, the Cup of His crown and the tip of His toe appeared simultaneously, ripping apart, the sky and the world.

Immediately, it is good and great time that appeared for the world. Thus,-My father (appan),- The way He measured the Universe- What a marvel it is! kovil denotes the one and only KanchipuramSwamy denotes the one and only Swamy RamanujaJeeyar denotes the one and only Swamy Manavala Mamunigal7)Veena Recital, 900 year old unique tradition performed on nearly 300days every year at the Srirangam Ranganatha templeA

one of its kind 900 year old tradition initiated by Ramanuja continues

to be performed to this day at the Lord Ranganathaswamy temple in

Srirangam. This is the one and only Divya Desam where the Lord is waken up and

put to sleep by the sweet Veena Recital.Ramanuja,

Thirupalli Yezhuchi, Thondaradipodi Azhvaar cites the Veena recital:‘à®à®¤à®®à¯ இல௠தணà¯à®£à¯à®®à¯ˆ à®à®•à¯à®•à®®à¯ மதà¯à®¤à®³à®¿ யாழ௠கà¯à®´à®²à¯ à®®à¯à®´à®µà®®à¯‹à®Ÿà¯ இசை திசை கெழà¯à®®à®¿ கீதஙà¯à®•à®³à¯ பாடினர௠கினà¯à®©à®°à®°à¯ கெரà¯à®Ÿà®°à¯à®•à®³à¯ கெநà¯à®¤à®°à¯à®µà®°à¯ அவர௠கணà¯à®•à¯à®²à¯à®³à¯ எலà¯à®²à®¾à®®à¯â€™Given

this background, Ramanuja wanted Veena recital to form an integral part

of the daily routine at the Srirangam temple. And he gave it the most

sacred and satisfying role- that of both waking up the Lord as well as

putting him to sleep.

4)Madhura kavi Alwar is the one and only alwar who has not sung on any divya desam or emperumaan, his acharya

satagopan, was his emperumaan, such was

his acharya bakthi (an important sri vaishnava lakshanam).another classic examples of acharya bhakti, can be adorned to Vaduga Nambi and Thirumalai Ananthalwan Pillai, both sishyas of Swamy RamanujaManavala Mamunigal in his Aarthi Prabandham prays to Swami Ramanuja to take him into his fold and give him the same status that Vaduga Nambi holds Nambi who never knew any other Deivam than Swamy Ramanuja"Unnai Ozhiya Ore Deivam Mattru AreyaMannu Pugal Ser Vaduga Nambi ThannilayaiEnthannukku Ne thanthu Ethiraja Ennalum OnthanukkeAatkol ugandhu"and coming to Ananthalwan Pillai, who went to Tirumala, to make a garden to adorn Lord Srinivasan with

fragnant flowers by the command of Swami Ramanuja, named the garden in the name of his acharya "Ramanuja Nandavanam", and installed the archa thirumeni of Swamy Ramanuja, and even Lord Srinivasan was secondary to him, such was Ananthalwan Pillai's acharya bhakti, that the lotus feet of Swami Ramanuja (Padukaigal) is known as Ananthalwan pillai in Tirumala, and in Sri Perumbudur it is known as "Mudaliyandan" and since the acharya bhakti was at par excellence to Madhurakavi alwar, the descendants of Ananthalwan Pillai even today called themselves as "Madhurakavi dasargal"

5)"KANNINUN SIRTHAMBU " is the one and only Prabandham (set of 11 pasurams) which gave us back the rest of the Divya

prabandhams It is truly said " If there were no "kanninum Siruthambu" there would be no 4000 Divya Prabandhams at all"6)Thondaradipodialwar was the one and only alwar who knew no other emperuman other than Periya PerumalPeriya Perumalai alladu veru ariyadu erruppaar Oruvar Aiththu evar" (He was one person who knew no other emperuman other than Periya Perumal). Thondaradi

podi alwar in his 55 paasurams of thirumaalai and Thirupalliyezhuchi has never

given room for any other divya desa perumal other than Sri Ranganathan. Even

when he talks about the vibhavaavatArams he attributes them only to

Arangathamman. This alwar alone lived like this with parama Ikantyam towards

ranganathan. He has not gone to anyother temple, he hasn't taken a dip in any

other pushkarini and he has never taken the prasaadam of any other perumal

other than arangan.

7) The entire work of BODAYAN VRIITI was

memorized by our one and only KOORTHALWAN and if not for alwan, we would not have had the SRI BASHYAM, and one and only Kooorthalwan, had qualities, such as, Jiva Karunyam, Aacharya Bhakti, Bhagavath Bhakti, Viragyam, Pandithyam, and Sath dharma Anushtanam found not in othersto be continued.................ANNAIYAI ATTHANAI ENNAI AANDIDUMTHANMAIYAN RAMANUJAN EN NAMBIYEAdiyenGeetha Vasudevan
