Guest guest
Srirasthu srimathe satakopaya nama: srimathe ramanujaya nama: srimathe varavara munaye nama: It is easy to worship SrimanNarayana " patram pushpam palam thoyam yo me bhakthya prayachchathi thathaham bhakthupahrrthamachnaami priyathaathmana: " This is a slokha in Bagavad Geetha (9-26). It is easy to worship Sriman Narayana is the most important point driven by this slokha. There is a big difference between Bagavan SrimanNarayana and other demi gods he has created, in a lot of many different ways, like wise he is different in the way his devotee worships him, and the devotees of demigods worshipping them. " Give me a goat as sacrifice, Give me a rooster as sacrifice " asks the demi gods, however bagavan sriman Narayana gets satisfied with what we offer him, that is his quality. Let us ask ourselves a question. Why are we offering anything to Bagavan? is it so that he gets something, from our offering that he hasnt gotten already? or is it so that we do our duty and is our true nature (out of love)? He is complete in everything, one who has all the possible desires fulfilled. Thus, He getting his desires fulfilled by our offering is totally impossible. The reason Clouds pour rain into Sea, isnt for the reason that sea has to get full. Svami Parasara Bhattar in his SriRangarajastavam says thus " varshavindorivapthou sambandath svathma labaha " meaning the Clouds pouring rain in the sea is because it is its true nature. Thus it is clear that we offering something to Bagavan Sriman Narayana (who is totally content and has fulfilled all his desires) is for us to be in our true nature and certainly not for completing any desire he has. Whatever one offers it is only in the love with which one offers that matters. Svami Thirumangai Azvar sings thus " Kallar thuzhayum kanavalarum koovilaiyum mullar mulariyum aambalum mun kandakkaal puLLai orenamai pukkidanthan ponnadikkenru uLLAthar uLLaththai uLLAmak koLLome " in Periya thirumozhi (11-7-6). If one looks at thiru thuzai or an other flower if he doesnt think in his heart that this flower is suited only for emperumaan, then i wont consider his heart as a heart. However in this paasuram Azvar also takes other flower varieties which have thorn etc in par with holiest Thiruthuzai. If they are taken by the devotee out of love, only for bagavan, then their badness vanishes. It is not necessary that it need be " senbaka malligaiyodu senkazhuneer iruvatchi " which are specially adored, It can be any pushpam, provided there is pure love and devotion from the devotee. The above geetha slokham, was ordered by Bagavan Sri Krishna, to drive a point that bagavan doesnt look at the material that His devotee offers Him, and that He looks at devotee's love and devotion with which devotee offers that material to Him. Note Sri krishna has inserted the term Bhakthi twice in this sloka. -60 years back in Sri Ramanujan Magazine Sri Kanchi Svami (Vikruthi 10-Apr-1950)
