Asmad gurubhyo:namaha!

Jai Sri:mannarayana!!

In today’s(2nd Aug. 2007) pravachan HH delved deeper into the contents and

secrets of Balakanda given by Valmiki bhagavan. Itihasas tell us how can the

correct practices as ordained by the sasthras can be implemented in our daily

life.

In Sri Ramayanam we see Rama as a human being; we see him as the Parathathva

too. Everything has a kaaranam behind it. We should know what is the ‘karanam’

to this ‘jagath’ that is the ‘jagath kaarana thathvam’. If we want to recognize

some thing it has to be guided by some characteristics. It has been clearly

stated by Vedas and also by Valmiki.

There are four guidelines to realize who the jagath karana thathvam is. He

should be the creator, the sustainer and the dissolver having the caliber to

provide eternal happiness to the jivas – all these activities have to be carried

on by the same thathvam alone. Veda says so; it is essential to know the truth.

Thaiththareeyam says this. One alone is responsible to discharge all the four

activities. That alone is the jagath karana thathvam.

How is that brahmam? How does it come? What does it do? How does it do?

In Balakanda when all were worried how to get rid of wicked Ravan, HE came. He

who pervades everywhere appeared there. He need not come from anywhere as he is

present everywhere. He is the jnana swarupa, he can appear anywhere, in any

form, in different forms or in a complex form because he is the ‘vishnu,

sarvajnaha, sarvavith’(vedam says)

Balakanda makes it evident that he has the divine attributes like individuality,

accessibility, sovereignty and controlling power. As they were discussing about

their hardships, just at that instant,

‘ae:thasmin anthare: vishnurupaya:tho: maha:dyuthihi’

He came there to tell them he would help them, pretending ignorance about the

details and asking their support. Who was he that came there? It was the ‘jagath

ka:ranam’. Rama as a small boy showed how to behave with his father, with the

teacher, how to crush the wicked that trouble the noble people and how to check

if the good sometimes become egoistic. The jagath karanam pervades everywhere

with its ‘swarupam’ and ‘jna:nam’ also.

Others may be able to spread their jnanam to an extent but not their swarupam.

Our jnanam is spread all over our body. Some great people may be able to extend

through their jnanam to a vast extent. This is due to their jnaanam but not with

their swarupam. The jagath karana thathvam pervades in all the lokas with its

swarupam ‘yo: lo:ka tthraya ma:visya’ It bears everything and it supports them.

It is the controller of the whole universe. He is never tired.

He permeates everything, bears and controls all. Who ever has these three

qualities is the ‘vuththama purusha’. How do we know who is he?

Valmiki said in Balakanda. “aham ve:dmi maha:thma:nam ra:mam” When Parasurama

challenged Sri Rama, valmiki said he is the ‘parathathvam’.

He has all the divine attributes. He has no draw-backs.

Balakanda showed Rama’s divine gunas and characteristics.

Ayodhyakanda demonstrated that he has all the divine attributes and no

blemishes. This is the ‘Bhagavath thathvam’

These are only a few points that HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji enlightened the

devotees about.

Jai Srimannarayana!
