Sept 3rd Monday pravachan:

Jai Srimannarayana to you all!

HH today threw light on the reality of dreams and what impelled King Dasaratha

take such a sudden decision of Srirama’s coronation as crown prince.

We all dream a lot, sometimes they may be pleasant dreams and some times they

are dreadful but they certainly leave an impression on our mind which we do

share with our people.

Some of the ‘Darsana:s’ based their philosophy on dreams and projected their

concept of ‘midhya:va:dam’ - everything is false, temporary and ‘kshana

bhangura’. Is dream a reality? Has it any purpose?

Now-a-days many new theories have cropped up analyzing the dreams and their

inference. Our scriptures say as there exists a wonderful outer world so does

there exist an amazing inner world. As we can’t understand about this outer

world so do we about this inner world too.

Do we know who created this world? In a way we only know how to spoil its

natural resources. None had built it, neither the devathas nor

others. Even Veda admits that it does not know who made this. Some times it is

in the subtle form and some times it is in the manifested huge form. Whatever

that existed earlier becomes huge or subtle. No one can determine when did it

come into being initially. We say Lord Supreme had created the world. But he too

had not created anything. He gives shapes and forms to the existing things. The

creation is ‘ANA:DI’. He makes a seed manifest into a tree.

We see a farmer sowing seeds and taking care to grow them into plants and trees.

He safeguards them and if infested, uses pesticides or other measures to keep

them healthy and safe. He can never change the characteristics hidden in the

seed that would later form the tree. He can only help it to germinate and grow

well taking proper care. The modern man tries to manipulate the characteristics

of the seeds but in the way he only spoils its natural form and features which

become harmful.

Lord makes the whole universe manifest from its subtle form like a tree from the

seed. One day He again withdraws the universe into its minutest subtle form – as

if a tree withdrawn into a seed form. We know it is not possible for a farmer to

do it. When a sari is folded into a small pack we can’t see anything but when it

is unfolded we appreciate its designs and various colors.

Veda reveals this secret. So it is sublime. Whether it is in the micro or macro

form the three tattvas that are present always are Parama:thma, jivas and

prakruthi. These three are the same while in the macro stage or micro stage. We

don’t call it visishta:dwaitha as they are together or the jiva prakruti are

‘sesha’ to Paramathma. It is like a person sitting cuddled up and the same

person standing up straight with his limbs stretched up. Both are same and one

only. When the matter is in the subtle form we can’t differentiate between the

three constituents where as when it manifests into a gigantic form, the three

things would be identifiable.

Prakruthi’s character is: it changes its form and shape and size.

Jivas: They are fixed in number and unchangeable. We can’t really make out where

does it lie in the body (prakruthi).

Even if the limbs or some organs are lost the being survives and carries the

previous experience with his lost limbs as memories. So the one who is NOT the

body is the ‘jiva’. Jiva is one. Very minute Dwells inside. He has jna:nam.

He extends his jnana far and wide and knows the things. Jivas are unlimited and

fixed in number Body is the mixture of five elements. Jiva is one. They both

don’t think or plan to come here. So there is some one else inside controlling

this phenomenon.

He is in me, in you and in everything around us. Some are given the permission

to think and talk where as some others (birds or animals) can only make sounds.

If this is ‘athma’- the one who manages all these athmas must be ‘PARAMA:THMA’.

Jivas are unlimited in number. Prakruthi is the mixture of many elements.

Keeping these together and Himself also, He transforms it into a big form or a

minute form with some purpose. No one can comprehend or perceive this.

VEDA started to tell us this only. Parama:thma is one. He is eternal.

We, jivas, are there and we are eternal. Prakruthi which is also eternal is a

mixture and it forms and acts like a support – like a tree for the birds.

These three are always there. Knowing this is ‘jna:na’. Once we know this, it is

our responsibility to take refuge at His lotus feet because he is the One who is

the Supreme controller.. Why does he run this whole show?

He is doing this to decrease the effect of our KARMA which is ana:di. He puts in

lots of efforts to remove our karma. What is the reason for that? He is

‘daya:lu’. He has compassion on us. Then why does he make some suffer more, keep

some healthy and happy, while make others drown in sorrows and poverty? He has

no partiality.

The reason for this is - to decrease the stock of karma accumulated by the jivas

since ana:di. It has to happen only through bodies, and they have to come

through the prakruthi alone and so somehow he gives him body and there by

decreases his karma. Thus he puts in innumerable efforts.

In this effort he divides the karmas into very minute karmas, medium karmas and

very large karmas. He makes us undergo the biggest karmas with this body only.

For the experience of the minute karmas, he prepares a play ground which is the

‘dream world’. He reserves the middle sized karmas to be experienced in another

life. He sends them into the reserve stock. Some how Bhagavan wants to reduce

the burden of karma on the jiva.

This karma bondage has to be released, ‘sva swarupam’ has to be realized and

then one can attain the eternal bliss.

How is it possible? Let us know it tomorrow form the rest of HH’s

pravachan.
