Auspicious opening: Chinna Jeeyar Swamy releasing brochure of Raintree Park Dwaraka Krishna township in Guntur on Monday. - GUNTUR: Srimannarayana Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy on Monday formally launched construction of the Rs.1,200-crore state-of-the-art Raintree Park Dwaraka Krishna township with all modern facilities that would come up opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University on National Highway No.5 on a 120-acre site. Taken up by as joint venture by the IJM Lingamneni Township Private Ltd. with a Malaysian company, it would construct 5.5 million square feet of built-up area within five years in the form of 3,300 apartments and 276 individual houses, the IJM India Chief Lingamneni Ramesh said. Create homes: The Jeeyar Swamiji releasing the brochure of the venture appreciated the facilities being created by the company, which would bring people back from the cities to villages. VGMT Urban Development Authority Chairman Malladi Vishnuvardhan said that project in addition to another one coming in the vicinity would help the process of converting Vijayawada-Guntur into a twin city soon.
