Guest guest
News Article from the internet... The Bhagavad Gita Foundation was launched at a glittering function held at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad on January 19, with popular playback singer Gangadhar as the founder president. Sri Sri Sri Tridandi China Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy unveiled the logo. Later, thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao launched the Bhagavad Gita website. It is worth mentioning here that Gangadhar, who was a popular classical singer, had taken up the singing of the entire Bhagavad Gita. According to him, the late Ghantasala had taken up the project and rendered only 108 slokas and after that his health did not permit him to complete it. Hence, Gangadhar decided to complete the unfinished project of Ghantasala. Legendaries like Akkineni Nageswara Rao, C Narayana Reddy, K Raghavendra Rao were the members of the foundation. The entire Ravindra Bharati was filled with a devotional atmosphere and turned a devotional centre. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers say, 'We listened to six slokas rendered by Gangadhar and we are surprised as we could not differentiate the voice and were in a shock whether Ghantasala was reborn for the purpose. We have gone to another world while listening to those slokas.' Addressing the gathering China Jeeyar Swamy announced, 'Gangadhar had decided to take only 10 per cent of the profits from the sale of the Bhagavad Gita CDs and cassettes and the remaining 90 per cent would go for charitable trusts and would be utilised for the welfare of destitute children, old age people etc.' N
