Re : Pedda Jeeyar Centenary celebrations

Having been one of the beneficiaries of the Prabhandham Paatashala, that used to

be run by Sri.Sri.Sri. Pedda Jeeyar Swami in south uthra street Srirangam in the

late seventies, I bow before Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami to renew/reopen the

Patashala again..... ( I was blessed to have been chosen with my brother for the

rendition of Iraamaanusa nootrandhaathi in the " Santhai " pattern whenever any

function was organised at the Patasala, in those times. I also took part in the

planting of Coconut saplings around the temple walls in " Ulthurai veedhi " in

Srirangam temple.

 

The Ku.Si Patashala(KuvaLakudi Singam Iyengar) in East chithra street is not

fully functional as it used to be in the olden days

In this place, the bhattars of Srirangam temple(who are not associated with any

Matam, which is being ignored now) are given training by senior bhattars and

Agama pundits., but with the death of Sri. " Cheemi " Kesavan and " hitler "

Thirumalai Iyengar, this Patashala has lost its value.(AdiyEn has moved out of

Srirangam in 2000) but till date adiyEn continue to do engage in Periya Koil

Sudhdhi kainkaryam and NamperumaL Sreepaadha kainkaryam as and when I go to

srirangam .
