Guest guest
Jai SrimanNarayana! Srimad Bhagavatham 1.9.30 Whoever, at the time of death, quits his body remembering Me alone, at once attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt. Me Alone --Nothing else So lets start practising to reach Him alone and not wanting anything else so that our mind is prepared at the 'end time'. Jai SrimanNarayana! Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! I think it should be noted that according to Sri Vaishnava philosophy, remembering Him at the time of one's leaving the body is not a requirement for a prapanna. We should refer to Koorathazhwan's six messagees to Emperumanar, in which he clearly states exactly this. The message behind this is that it is He who is constantly thinking about us, caring and protecting all of us whether we believe in Him or not. This implies that our role in our redemption is the fruit of His efforts, not ours. iramanusa adiyen , smitha nellutla <smithanell wrote: > > Jai SrimanNarayana! > > Srimad Bhagavatham 1.9.30 > Whoever, at the time of death, quits his body > remembering Me alone, at once attains My nature. Guest guest
Dear Sriman Mohan Sagar swami, I beg to differ a little bit here. Not only for a prapanna, but also for a bhakta, remembering Him at the last moment is unessential. This is clear from the vara:ha charama slo:kam where the Lord says, " aham smara:mi madbhaktam " (I will remember My bhakta at the time of death). In our samprada:yam, Lord Himself is the means and goal. In some other samprada:yams, bhakti yo:ga is practised as a means to reach Him. Ours is a practical philosophy. One can concentrate on giving some medical aid for the survival of the person likely to die, rather than arrange for go:vinda na:ma smaranam. When healthy, one having a:cha:rya's blessings spends life meaningfully in that. adiyen ramanuja dasan Vishnu ------------- Jai Srimannarayana!
