Pasuram: Oruththi

Divyadesam: Thirukkannapuram

 

The phrase " oruththi magana:yp pirandhu Oriravil

oruththi magana:y oliththu valara " in this pasuram,

can be seen to a great extent in the divyadesam

of Thirukkannapuram.

 

The entire eighth hundred of Periya Thirumozhi

is the mangalashasanam of Thirukkannapuram. The

pasuram " thandhai ka:lil vilangkara vandhuu

tho:nriya tho:nral " (Periya Thirumozhi 8-5-1)

talks about His birth to Devaki ( " oruththi

magana:yp pirandhu " ). In the next pasuram,

Azhvar sings " ma:rima:kkadal valaivanarkilaiyavan "

about His growing at Yashoda's home ( " oruththi

magana:y valara " ). Many pasurams such as " tha:y

eduththa siruko:lukku ulaintho:dith thayirunda

va:y thudaiththa maganukku " (Periya Thirumozhi

8-3-5) are about His acts as He grew up in

Thiruvayppadi.

 

Thus, the divyadesam of Thirukkannapuram is

experienced in this pasuram.
