25.krutha kantthaguna:h kshiiba:h rakthama:lya:nule:pana:h |

rakthaksha:h pushkara:ksha:h cha gaganam prathipedire||

 

 

The vidyadharas, intoxicated, wearing chains on their necks,

decorated with red flower garlands, red-eyed and lotus-eyed, went up the sky.

 

Krutha kanttha guna:h - The word guna means thread, and krutha kantha means that

they were tied on the neck, kantha. So it means the chains or necklaces.

ksheebha:h - drunk or intoxicated. From ksheeb - to get drunk.

rakthama:lya: - red flower garlands,

anule:pe:na - covered with

raktha:ksha:h - red eyes due to drink

pushkara:ksha:h = lotus -like eyes, denotes beauty.

prathipedire: = reached towards. Padh to reach with ‘prathi’

gaganam = the sky.

 

 

26. ha:ra nu:pura ke:yu:ra pa:ri ha:rya dhara:h sthriyah |

vismithah sasmitha:h thasthu h a:ka:se: ramanaih saha ||

 

 

The vidhyadhara women , wearing neck-lets anklets, armlets and bracelets stood

in the sky with their lovers smiling and wondering.

 

sthriyah =vidhyadhara damsels

 

ha:ranu:pura ke:yu:ra pa:riha:rya dhara:h = dharaah ,wearing, ha:ra, necklets,

noopura, anklets, keyu:ra, armlets and pa:riha:rya, bracelets.

thasthuh -stood

a:ka:se: - in the sky

vismitha:h- surprised, vismaya is wonder. They were surprised at the

mountain being upset which has never happened before.

sasmitha:h - with smiles.

ramanaih saha - with their lovers

 

 

 

27. darsayantho: maha:vidya:m vidya:dhara maharshayah|

sahitha:h thasthuh a:ka:se: vi:ksha:m chakruh cha parvatham||

 

 

The vidhyadharas and the sages together stood in the sky showing their

powers and saw the mountain.

 

Vidhya:dhara maharshayah - the vidhyadharas and the great sages

thasthuh = stood

sahithah - together

a:ka:se: - in the sky

dharsayanthah - displaying

maha:vidya:m - their great skills, such as being able to fly etc.

cha - and

veekshaam chakruh - perceived. Vi:ksha means sight.

parvatham - the mountain ( being broken)
