28. susruvuscha thada: sabdam rushi:na:m bha:vitha:thmana:m

cha:rana:nam cha siddha:na:m sthith:na:m vimale:mbare||

 

They heard the words of the siddhas, charanas and of sages who were realized

souls in deep

contemplation standing in the clear sky.

 

cha susruvuh- and heard

thadhaa-then

sabdam - the sound (words spoken)

rushi:na:m - of the rshis

bha:vitha:thmana:m - who were realized souls

cha:rana:na:m cha – of cha:rana:s and

siddha:na:m - of siddhas

sthitha:na:m - who were standing

ambare- in the sky

vimale - that was clear

 

 

 

29. ae:sha parvatha sanka:so: hanuma:n ma:rutha:thmajah|

thithi:rshathi maha:vegah sa:garam makara:laya||

 

This Hanuman the son of Vayu, mighty like a mountain, with great speed, wishes

to cross the ocean, the abode of sharks and crocodiles.

 

e:sha hanuman- This hanuman

ma:ruthathmajah - the son of Vayu. aathmajaH, son of maarutha, Vayu.

parvathasanka:sah- large like the mountain, sanka:sa means similar.

mahaavegah- one who has great speed,

thitheershathi- wishes to cross. tharthum icchathi, from the verb

thr-thar to cross.

sa:garam- the ocean. The ocean got the name sa:garam because the king

Sagara caused it to be dug by his sons in search of the sacrificial horse stolen

by Indra.

makara:layam- the abode, alaya, of sharks and crocodiles, makara.
