Jai srimannarayana!

 

 30. ra:ma:rtham va:nara:rtham cha chiki:rshan karma dushkaram |

samudrasya param pa:ram dushpra:pam pra:pthum ichchathi ||

 

He wants to accomplish a difficult task for the sake of Rama and the

vanaras and wishes to reach the other shore of the ocean which cannot be

attained easily.

 

Chiki:rshuh - wishing to do

karma- an act

dushkaram - difficult to do

ra:ma:rtham - for the sake of Rama

va:nara:rtham cha- for the sake of vanaras also since Sugriva will punish

the vanaras if they did not obey his command.

icchathi- he wants

prapthum- to reach

param pa:ram - the other shore

samudrasya - of the sea

dushpra:pam- which is difficult to reach

 

 

 

31. ithi vidya:dhara:h sruthva: vachah thesha:m thapasvina:m|

tham aprame:yam dadrusuh parvathe: va:narotthamam ||

 

Hearing this from the sages of austerity the vidyadharas saw Hanuman,

the best of the monkeys, on the mountain immeasurably large.

 

Ithi sruthvaa - hearing thus

va:chah - the words of

thesha:m thapasvina:m - of those sages

vidyaadhara:h- the vidhyadharas

dadrusuh - saw

tham - that hanuman

aprame:yam- immeasurable

parvathe: - on the mountain

 

 

32. dudhuve: cha saro:ma:ni chakampe: cha achalo:pamah |

Nana:da sumaha:na:dam sumaha:n iva tho:yadaha ||

 

Hanuman, who was like a mountain, shook his hairs, moved his body and

raised a great sound like a large cloud.

 

Acahlopamah - hanuman who was like, upamah, a mountain, achala.

dudhuve- perfect tense, meaning ,shook, from Dhoo to shake.

romaani - hairs. Hanuman shook the hairs on his body so that they stood on

their ends.

chakampe - He shook his whole body. Perfect tense of kamp to shake.

nana:da - sounded

sumaha:na:dam - a very big roar

iva - like

sumaha:n- very big

thoyadah - cloud, meaning that the roar of him was like thunder from a big

cloud.
