121. pu:jithe thvayi dharmajna pu:ja:m pra:pnothi ma:ruthah

thasma:th thvam pu:janeeyo me sruni cha:pi athra ka:ranam

 

When you are worshipped, Vayu will receive the worship too (through

you). Therefore you deserve to be worshipped by me and hear the reason

for it.

 

Pu:jithe thvayi - when you are honoured. (example of sathi sapthami

rule. Used in place of yadha: thadha: avoiding them as such by putting

the subject and the action in sapthami vibakthi, seventh case)

 

ma:ruthah - Vayu, the god of wind

prapnothi- gets

puja:m - worship.

Thasma:th -therefore

thvam - you

pujaneeyah - worshipful

me - for me.

cha - and

srunu- hear

api - also

karanam- the reason

athra - in this context.

 

 

122. pu:rvam krthayuge thatha parvathah pakshinah abhavam

 

the abhijagmuh dhisah sarva:h garuda:nilaveginah

 

 

 

Earlier in Krithayuga the mountains had wings. They used to go in all

directions with the speed of Garuda and the wind.

pu:rvam- earlier

krthayuge - in the krthayuga

parvathaaH- mountains

abhavam - were

pakshinah - having wings

the - they

abhijagmuh - traveled towards or reached

sarva:h disah - all directions

garuda:nila veginah - being fast like Garuda or the wind.
