Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana to you all! Today in the JIVA premises Sri:yagam has been performed with all devotion and dedication. While the rithwiks were offering the oblations chanting the hymns, the vedic and agama scholars of the Vedic University spoke on the greatness of Goddess Mother 'Sri' while the devotees heard to them with rapt attention. As the homam was coming to a finish Sri Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy spoke on why is it is necessary to offer oblations to the fire god when it the Mother Lakshmi to whom we are praying. HH Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy who hurried back after addressing the SIRC of CA’s spoke on the occasion. He threw light on various points: He was very happy since it was performed in a grand manner. He continued, “There is no manthra that can equal the Ashtakshari in its greatness. There is no Lord greater than Lord Narayana who is expounded by the Ashtakshari. The most important person is one’s life is his/her mother. The most accessible person in one’s life is also mother. Is it easy to approach one officer in an office? But one can approach one’s mother very easily. Actually we need not go to her, she herself comes to us and does everything we like. Doesn’t it look attractive and easy! Of course, and it is so with the Lord also. Aiming at Him and attaining Him is easy when compared to many smaller things. But, RETAINING him with us is very very difficult! To cultivate strong faith is extremely difficult. You breathe in air. For whose sake? Do you intend to do that? No. but we breathe. It is a natural process for your survival. For your own sake. Even the ‘manthram’ or puja you do is for your own sake. Can you see yourself? What is visible to you is your BODY. What all we do on daily basis is for the body – food we eat, drink, dress …..etc. What is more important or valuable? Is it your body or yourself? This body once becomes dead becomes costlier to maintain in the mortuary. This body without life needs money to dispose off. So it is not the body that is precious since we discard it once the life leaves it. Then the soul or Athma is more valuable than the body it dwells in for a period of time. Then don’t we need to do something for the sake of our ‘soul’? What do we need to do? When do you consider yourself living? When the Lord is with you! We want to LIVE as long as we live on this earth. See the Lord adjusts with you whatever you do or whenever you do a thing. See He catches on to you. Don’t aspire to catch hold of him. Be a kitten. Not a baby monkey. He is with you within you forever. You may feel – why to come all the way spending precious time and money to visit places of worship? It is natural. When a thing catches dust we need to clean it for optimizing its use. If you leave it like that it becomes tiresome to clean it. We have to take care to keep our ‘manas’ open and let it not get closed. Mundane things can be earned easily. ‘Manas’ is not a mundane instrument. Care should be taken to keep it clean. That happens when you visit holy places like temples. It makes the manas clean, clear, neat and alive. You pray to Lord not to grant you with mundane benefits but give you the mental strength. He of course grants you the worldly wealth. You need not worship the Lord for 24 hrs. Just pray for a second whole heartedly. That is more than enough. Be pure in mind and dedicated. The whole world appears and becomes rosy and bright. We offer our mangalasasanams to you all and pray to Mother to bestow all wealth and health to you all!” – thus HH concluded the pravachan.
