Swa:mi! Srihari! A:sritharthi hari:! You are going to

step onto this earth. We can see this earth with your

foot prints. Are you taking birth Swa:mi:? One who has

no birth is taking birth. It is fun for You. Earlier

You had taken many `avatha:ra:s'. Now You are taking

incarnation to reduce the burden of mother earth. Devakidevi!

How fortunate are you!! Bhagavan is going to be born to

you as your son to kill Kamsa and protect the ya:dava:s.

Time has arrived for Bhagavan who has no birth to take

birth. That was the auspicious time. That time the houses

and the stars were peaceful. That time it so happened the

star was Rohini whose devatha was Brahma. All the

directions were pure. All the stars were shining. The

whole earth was looking auspicious.

 

It was midnight. It was pitch dark. At that time from

Devakidevi, who is the de:vatha: swaru:piNi, like the

moon that rises from the east, Maha: Vishnu, the `sarva

guna:sraya' appeared. Vishnu is all pervading. So Him

taking birth is like the moon appearing at one place,

who has already been there. Similarly, the all pervading

Vishnu appeared from Devakidevi.

 

Va:sudeva saw the baby. The baby was in an astounding

`ru:pa'. He appeared as puda:ri:ka:ksha and with

chaturbhuja. He had sankha, chakra, gada and padma in

His four hands. He had `srivatsa' on His chest. The

`kausthubha mani' shining in His neck. His complexion

was like that of a dark cloud filled with water. He

was wearing `pi:ta:mbara' on His divine body. He had a

crown embedded with diamonds and precious stones. His

hair was glowing by the reflected light of His

`kundala' (ear rings). He was adorned with anklets,

bangles and waist band and many more unseen, rare,

resplendent ornaments. He was resembling Maha: Vishnu

but appearing as a small baby boy. Vasude:va was

unable to comprehend.

 

Let us pray Lord Krishna and our Acharya to bless us

all on this Sri Krishna Jayanthi day:
