JET Washington DC Githa Celebrations

With the Holy Mangalasasanams of our beloved Acharya Sri Sri Sri Tridandi

Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji JET Washington DC celebrated Githa

Jayanthi and Githa Competitions successfully on Dec 5th 2009 at Fryingpan

Community Center, Fairfax VA. Despite of the first HEAVY snowfall of the season

in our metropolitan area, which fell continously all day long from morning 9am

to evening 8pm still more than 35 contestants participated from PRAJNA and other

Organizations in Githa Competitions. Kids did amazing presentation. Saikantha

Lakshmi  & Teja Raparla garu sponsored beautiful Trophies for the Winners for all

Coloring, Essay Writing, Slo:kas and Quiz categories and ALL participants were

awarded Certificates. Vidya Siripuram garu with few Volunteers prepared a mouth

watering Prasadam to all the Devotees. Parent Volunteers extended their services

and did an amazing job by making this event a mile stone. Aravind Swamy

conducted Sri Krishna Asthothara Pooja, later we all participated in Samoohika

Githa Jyothi Slo:ka Parayana followed by Githa Competitions.

Recently on Dec 12th, JET Washington DC chapter PRAJNA kids participated in the

Local Telugu Organization's (CATS Fall Event) and presented 'Invocation Slo:kas'

during the Organization's Deepa Prajvalana. Kids sang " Poornamidam, Eesaavasyam,

and Srisailesa.....slo:kas'.

JET DC started Samoohika Sri Lakshmi Asthothara Sahitha Sri Vishnu Sahasranama

Parayana every Saturday from 3:00PM to 4:30PM starting on Dec 12th at interested
