I can quote a similar incident.This has happened in the Saalakkinaru, while we were checking up the renovation work. Since the water from this well is carried to Sri Deva Perumal thirumanjanam, I had an "alpa aasai" of carrying the same water to our house Salagrama perumal thirumanjanam. Immediately on hearing this, Sri Laksmi Narasimhan,who is doing the service of carrying on his head daily this water to Sri Deva Perumal,has retorted, " Swamy, this water is meant only for Sri Deva Perumal Thirumanjanam, as ordained by Sri Ramanujar and even myself is not supposed even to taste this water, leave alone doing Aachamanam on this.

 

Such is the importance attached to Perumal and Thaayar Kainkaryam. The elephant is meant for Sri Andal and our Acharyan has rightly expressed His displeasure, when it was asked to do something else. Likewise,Saalakkinaru theertham is meant for Sri Deva Perumal and Sri Perundevi Thaayaar only.
