38. MatarmAdhavapAdhukE! Tava GuNAn ka: sthOthumasthOkaDhI:

kOtIrEShu YadarpaNapraNayinAm sevAkshaNE svargiNAm

anyOnyam kshipatAmahampraThamikAsammardhakOlahalam

VishvaksEnavihAravEtralathikAkampaschirAllumpati

 

Oh Mother Paaduka! Who is there, competent to compose a hymn in praise of

Your GuNas! None there can be.

 

Devas compete and clash with one another, to advance to bear You on the

head; their effort at priority causes a great furore; Vishwaksena tries,

but succeeds only very late, to quieten the situation, with his wand and

whip, which works for long, though in sport.
