SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha,

Dear Sriman Sadagopan Swamin,

Thank you for another delightful offering of Amrutam in your

summary of Sri RPS-45. Adiyen is particularly touched by the last

observation you made on the journey of the Jivatma to Sri Vaikuntam.

During Adiyen's recent trip to India, Adiyen's Acharya, H.H. Srimad

Andavan Swami of Srimad Poundarikapuram Ashramam, blessed Adiyen

with a 2ftx3ft picture which depicts the journey of the JivAtma to

Sri Vaikuntam. The graphical presentation of the route to the

Sri Divya TripAda VibhUti would be a valuable possession for

every Sri Vaishnava. This picture can be obtained free of cost

when one visits H.H. in Srirangam. A number of copies are available

at the Ashramam. Very briefly, the journey to Sri Divya TripAda Vibhuti

involves the following steps.

Satsangam (Kalakshepam at the feet of a Sadacharya)

Prapatti

DehAvasAnam

Archirdeva Lokam

DinAbhimani Deva Lokam

Shukla Paksha Deva Lokam

UttarayaNAbhimAni Deva Lokam

SamvatsarAbhimAni Deva Lokam

Vayur Deva Lokam

Surya Deva Lokam

Chandra Deva Lokam

Vidyuth Deva Lokam

VaruNa Deva Lokam

Indra Deva Lokam

Brahma Deva Lokam

Viraja Nadi Snanam (acquiring a new body full of Shuddha Satva

upon completion of the Snanam)

Attendants of Lord Narayana are lined up to welcome the jivatma

All royal paraphernalia is in place as the NityasUris joyously

line up along the path to Lord Narayana's Sabha to welcome the new entrant.

The jivatma arrives at the Gopuram at the entrance to the

Sabha of Lord Narayana, where the jivatma respectfully prostrates.

A further line of Nithya Suris line up past the Gopuram holding the

royal umbrella, Chamaram etc and then the jivatma ascends a planquin,

which carries him to the Sabha of Lord Narayana. The Sabha has

Anantha, Garuda, Vishvaksena and the other Dwara Palakas. The Lord

is majestically seated in the company of his consorts Sri Devi, Bhumi Devi

and Neela Devi. (This picture reminds Adiyen of the Sri Ramanujacharya's

SharaNagati Gadyam salutation " Evam Bhoota Bhumi

Neela Nayaka " ). The jivatma prostrates at the Lord's lotus feet.

The Lord picks up the jivatma and affectionately seats the jivatma on His

lap just as a loving father welcomes his beloved son.

The relevant shlokas too are contained in this picture, which provides

a succinct description of the path to Sri DivyatripAdha ViBhUti as

described by NammAzhwar in Tiruvaimozhi and Swami Desikan in the

Rahasya Trayasaram.

NOTES BY V.SADAGOPAN(V.S)

*************************

(1)UtthamUr Swamy's anubhavam: The blessings arising from

adorning the PaadhukhAs on one's head is further described

here . The wearing of the PaadhukhAs even once on one's head

with devotion will result in being led to Sri Vaikuntam by

the AadhivAhikAs through the archirAdhi margam at the end of

one's life on this earth. Since the AadhivAhikAs take over,

Dharma RaajA (Yama Devan )is unable to intervene to order

the soul to undergo the punishment associated with the sins

committed by the soul during its earthly existence .

The PaadhukhAs though their sanctifying touch destroy all

the sins of its devotee and puts Dharma RajA and his staff

out of their anticipated business .

(2)Sri Andavan's anubhavam : Oh Paadhukhais of Lord SaarangapANi!

When a bhakthan places You on his head even once , he is taken

at the time of his death by Your servants, the Nithya Sooris,

to Your Lord's Parama Padham .Dharma Raajan and his servants

tremble and they do not even come near the blessed soul .

(3)AadhivAhikAs are different dEvAs assigned to lead a liberated

soul (Muktha Jeevan )to the abode of the Lord ( Sri Vaikuntam )

through a designated divine route decribed by Brahma SoothrAs

(chapter 4.3.1-6), , ChandhOgya , BrahadAranya and KaushitikI

Upanishads.Swami NammAzhwAr describes this joyous journey

along the path of light (archirAdhi margam )to parama Padham

led by AadhivAhikAs in his ThiruvAimozhi Paasurams (10.9).. V.S
