Upakarma dates

srivan satakopa sri narayana yatindra mahadesikaya nama:

 

There is some confusion about the correct date for Yajur Upakarma. Sri

Nrisimha Priya states that Aug 26th (Thursday) is the correct date for all

except those for whom this is the first upakarma. The first timers will

have to do the upakarma on September 25th 1999 (Purattaasi 8th). There is

no difference between the first timers and others for Gayathri Japam.

Everyone will have to do it on August 27th, Friday.

Dear Sri Dileepan :

You are correct.I was going to send a note

on that .I was writing the sankalpam in a big hurry.

This additional question crossed my mind.

After Upanayanam , Gayathri Japam is performed

every day , three times a day .Hence , there is nothing

that holds them back on the Gayathri Japam independent

of Talai AavaNi avitttam .
