Guest guest
Sri Ranganatha temple - Part 3 - If we don't give, who will ? Dear bAgawathAs, While you can give a dollar to the temples in India, one must consider that in the same lines that Sri Ranganatha temple is in our native village where we live here in US and give a dollar to this temple as well. ie., the emphasis is that we consider Sri Ranganatha temple as our own and involve in fund raising. I had mentioned above that there are many in india who will give money for temples in india. Can those in India give money to our temple in US in US dollars? In USA, who can give money to our temples in US $?. If it is not we indians living here, who else can give? No one else. We are a only a few. Every hindu temple in US may deserve some support and many temples are getting support and are already fuctioning. Howvever, one must take note of one thing. Sri Ranganatha temple is suffering for want of enough funds for a long time only for one reason. It wants to follow the traditional Sri vaishava agamas and want to be free of devathAnthram. For the same reason this temple has been punished by many Hindu donors in the past. Can we, as Srivaihsnavas sit aside and watch this for long? This is the main reason that an appeal to all Sri vaishnavas are made in Srivaishnava forums such as this. Guest guest
Most Honourable Bhagavatas, Pranamas at your holy feet. I remained silent very often, for the simple reason, my observations could be misinterpreted, as was the case in the past. But now, I am narrating an actual happening, where, we are punished, for the simple reason, we do not want to have that DEVATANTARA Sambandham. In the past, a few devotees, who wanted to convert Sri Ranganatha Temple into another Hindu Temple, demanded that their donations be returned to them, took their money back and went away to have their own Hindu Temples. It is with unbearable pain in my heart that I am forced to say that I suffered unimaginable humiliations , like, that I am a fundamentalist like Ayatollah Khomeni, or that I should be deported to India, that I should be shot dead, that I am an ayogyan, that I am an international fraud, etc., for the only reason that I honestly believed in the words., " en amudanay kanda kangal matrodinay kaanaaave " ( Sorry my tamil is not great, My eyes that have seen Sri Ranganatha do not want to see anyone else ), and " Sarvadharman parityajya maam EKAM saranam vraja " and " UNAKKE naamaatcheyvoom " . Well, it does not matter if you punish me personally, for I am aparadha koti koti bhajanam and patitam maam bhima maharnavodare, but please complete Sri Ranganatha Temple as it is for all Srivaishnavas. Well, Dr. Sadagopan Swamy asked me to give details of the pending works and the appropximate cost to open the Temple before July 2000. 1. Plumbing and drainage: $125,000= 2.Heating , Mechanical : $250,000= 3.Electrical works : $90,000= 4.Doors, windows etc. $54,000= 5.Plastering the walls etc:$55,000= 6.Roof and weather proofing:$55,000= 7.Land scapimg etc: $84,000= 8.Kalasams for Vimanas $35,000= (12 kalasams for Ranganatha, and 1 each for Thayar, Andal, Rama, Krishna,Lakshminrusimha, Srinivasa and Garuda Moola Gruha Vimanas, with gold plating @ 50 grams per kalasam or 250 grams paer kalasam for gold leafing, 19 x 50 = 950 grams or 19 x 250 = 4750 grams of gold) 9.Opening ceremony expenses:$100,000=. May I request you all Srivaishnavas, to please come and share the joy of building this great Sri Ranganatha Temple. adiyen venkat. Well, we have not taken into account any Divya Vastrams and Abharanas for the Moolavars yet. > " Sampath Rengarajan " <srengara > >Sri Ranganatha temple - Part 3 - If we don't give, who will ? >Tue, 21 Sep 1999 18:31:21 PDT > >Sri Ranganatha temple - Part 3 - If we don't give, who will ? > >Dear bAgawathAs, > >While you can give a dollar to the temples in India, one must >consider that in the same lines that Sri Ranganatha temple is >in our native village where we live here in US and give a >dollar to this temple as well. ie., the emphasis is that we >consider Sri Ranganatha temple as our own and involve in fund >raising. > >I had mentioned above that there are many in india who will >give money for temples in india.
