Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas In a connected note, Azhagiyasinghar mentioned in the Tele-Upanyasam that ladies should not *recite* Sri VishNu SahasranAmam. I have heard in KAlakshEpams that PArvati asked Lord Shiva that she desired only to *hear* even the short version of Sri VishNu SahasranAmam. Obviously, she was aware of the restraint. She specifically used the word -- " SrOthum (to hear) IchchAmi " and not " Vakthum (to recite) IchchAmi " . To this, Lord Shiva replied prescribing the famous SlOka - " Sri RAma RAma RAmethi rame RAmE manOrame sahasranAma thas thulyam Sri RAma nAma varAnanE " Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy
