SRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA

- translation by Sri.V.N.Gopala Desikan

Chapter IV

slOkA 10

vIta rAga bhaya krOdhA man mayA mAm upAshritAh:

bahavO jnAna tapasA pUtA mad bhAvam AgatAh:

Translation :

bahavah - Many people

pUtA - purified

jnAna tapasA - by the tapas of knowledge ,

upAshritAh: - and devoted

mAm - to Me,

vIta - and free from

rAga - desire,

bhaya - fear

krOdhA - and anger

man mayA - and absorbed in Me

agAtAh: - have attained

mad bhAvam - My state

Many people purified by the tapas of knowledge

and devoted to Me, and free from desire, fear and

anger and absorbed in Me have attained My state.

Commentary : Such persons, who learn the truth of

My births , become purified by this knowledge.

They are fully absorbed in Me and devoted to Me.

They are free from any desire , fear or anger.

They finally attain My state , at the end of the

life.

What is meant by 'My state'. i.e , the

Lord's state. According to the vEdAs , a liberated

soul(jivAtmA) which attains mOkshA , has its

knowledge infinite like the Lord's knowledge. It

attains all auspicious qualities like the Lord.

It attains the highest equality with the Lord.

This state is meant here.

Srimathe Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha Divya Paduka Sevaka Srivan Satakopa Sri Narayana Yatheendra Maha Desikaya namah:

Dear devotees,

first of all, adiyen could not thank enough Sri Senthil svAmi for his wonderful kaimkaryam ( delivering SRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA - translation by Sri.V.N.Gopala Desikan to Malolan net).

adiyen request Sri Senthil svAmi or any other knowledgable members to furthur explain the " mad Bhavam - State " which is told by Sri Krsna in BG 4.10 as adiyen wonders about what is the difference that will exist between Lord and the liberated soul in that State.

Thanks in advance.

AdiyEn Ramanuja Daasan,

Lakshmikumar.
