I had understood that typically only Sri Vaishnava related > events are listed in the magazine. Smt. Nagu, publication of Sri Nrisimha Priya is done in Chennai with different parts of the magazine coming from different sources not all of which are directly whetted by Srimad Azhagiya Singar or other traditional scholars. You may remember, there was an advertisement with Thiruvashtaksharam that ran in the magazine for several issues. Finally, after repeated requests it was discontinued by the advertiser. The Panjankam section comes from a source that is not under the review of a traditional scholar. Regarding what you have cited, Srimad Azhagiya Singar clarified that it would be useful for temples with a tradition of having a golu. Srimad Azhagiya Singar further clarified that it is NOT meant for Sri Vaishnava families. The kainkaryaparars that adiyEn spoke to mentioned that there were many seeking clarification about this. To avoid confusion, they felt it is better to not list this festival at all. These are administrative problems that must be managed better. With only aged seniors (into the seventies) taking any interest in the administrative matters such problems are unavoidable. Hope relative youngsters will take more interest in the future. > Also, are the responses to the recent discussions the actual response > from our Acharya? Or is this the explanation provided by the malolan net > administrators? I am anxious to hear the original response from our > Acharya. If this question has not been asked, I think a request to HH > Srimad Azhagiya Singar is required. adiyEn's original post " Simple, yet so difficult " was made only after speaking with Srimad Azhagiya Singar. The issues presented were faithful to HH's thiruvuLLam. To the best of my abilities adiyEn does try NOT to give my own explanations. The conversation took place more than 10 days ago and therefore adiyEn is unable to reproduce it now in its original form, verbatim. The relevant portion is summarized below once again. HH clearly stated that Sarasvati Pooja is NOT performed by Vaidikas. However, golu may be displayed if it is a practice followed in a given family. But make sure no anyadevata dolls are displayed. If any fruit or sundal is offered to the golu, distribute it to the visitors, do not consume it yourself. On Saraswati pooja day Hayagriva aradhanai may be performed. Initiation into formal study can be done on Vijayadasami day since it is an auspicious day, but do it with Hayagriva in your prayers and Sundal for naivedyam to Hayagriva, sundal being a favorite food for the Horse-faced one. BTW, members, please do not depend on the administrators to provide all the answers. Yes, we are happy to share whatever little we have gathered from our Acaryas to those who are sincerely interested in understanding our tradition and are willing to accept the clarifications given by our Acaryas. We do make every effort to be as faithful to Acaryas as possible and avoid providing our own explanations. But, every member must feel free to seek clarifications directly from our AcAryas in India and share their wisdom with the rest of us. srimad azhagiya singar thiruvadigaLE saraNam -- adiyEn ramanuja dasan
