Guest guest Posted November 24, 1999 Report Share Posted November 24, 1999 Sri: Sri Lakshminrisimha Parabrahmane Namaha Sri Ramanujaya Namaha Sri Nigamantha Mahadesikaya Namaha SRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA - translation by Sri.V.N.Gopala Desikan Chapter IV slOkA 15 Evam jnAtvA krtam karma pUrvair api mumukshubih kuru karmaiva tasmAt tvam pUrvaih pUrvataram krtam jnAtvA - Knowing evam - thus , karma - karma yOgA krtam - was done pUrvair api - by ancient people mumukshubih - desiring mOkshA; tasmAt - therefore tvam - you kuru - do karmaiva - only karma yOgA krtam - which was done pUrvaih - by ancient people pUrvataram - in old times Knowing thus, karma yOgA was done by ancient people desiring mOkshA; therefore you do only karma yOgA which was done by ancient people in old times. Commentary : Knowing the truth about Me, as above , even the ancient people who desired salvation or mOkshA , did only karma yOgA. Therefore , you also have the true knowledge about Me and have your sins destroyed. Then do the karma yOgA , as done earlier by VivasvAn , Manu and others.
