The innunerable kalyanNa guNaas of Emperumaan is widely

celebrated by all the AcAryas. We read about them in

ithihasa purANAs such as Srimad Ramayanam and

Mahabharatham. We eulogize them via reciting slokas

such as Sri Sthothrarathnam and Sri Gadya Thraiyam.

We derive vicarious pleasure by listening to them in

kalaakshepams by paNditAs. But how many of us have

directly experienced them in this leelA vibhUti

itself? Most likely, not many. At least not by

me. But due to His limitless mercy Perumal has

given us our AcArya so that such glories can be

experienced first hand here in this material

universe itself.

 

AdiyEn spoke to Srimad Azhagiar Singar two days

back at Ahobilam. They had just arrived. Yet,

Srimad Azhagiya Singar spoke to us for almost

20 minutes. It is like drinking a bowl full of

amrutham. Just the fact that Srimad Azhagiya

Singar directly communicates with us speaks

volumes about HH's kalyana gunas. But the way

HH speaks to us is what is captivating. The

one who presides over illustrious sadas of

ubhaya vedAntha paNditAs speaks to us as

though we are HH's close friends. Even Lord

Rama's sowlabhyam celebrated by Thirumangai

Azhzvar, vide,

 

" Ezhai Ethalan kIzhmagan ennAthu " ,

 

" vAdha mAmahan markadam, vilangu maRROr

sAthi enRu izhindhilai " , etc.

 

will have to take a back seat to HH's sowlabhyam.

This time, adiyEn submitted a few questions

about Salagrama ArAdhanai on behalf of a pure

devotee. Here are the answers for two of

them given by HH that may be of interest to

our members.

 

1. When purushAs are away what must a lady do

for Salagrama?

 

When in a pure state approach perumaaL room

and place the prasAdham. Open the kOvil

Azhvaar, but do not touch perumaaL. Then

offer the prasadam to perumal by singing the

following two verses from NachchiyAr

Thirumozh 9.6 and 9.7:

 

nARu naRum pozhil mAliruncOlai nambikku, naan

nooRu thadaavil veNNey vAynErndhu parAvi vaitthEn,

nooRu thadA niRaindha akkAra vadicil sonnEn,

ERu thiruvudaiyaan inRu vanthivai koLLungolO.

 

inRu vandhu itthanaiyum amuthu seythidappeRil naan

onRu nURAyiramAk kodutthup pinnum ALum seyvan,

thenRal maNam kamazhum thirumAliruNYsOlai thannuL

ninRa piraan adiyEn manatthE vandhu nEr padilE.

 

After prostrating four times close the kOvil Azhvaar.

 

2. What is the procedure to commence Aradhanai for a

Salagrama that has not been worshiped for a while?

 

First, do a Thirumnajanam with pure " pasum paal " , i.e.

fresh milk, do not heat it. After that continue with

the daily ThiuvArAdhanai.

kalyana gunas. It is very true that HH's glories

cannot be limited to our words.

 

Certainly HH's kalyana guna anubhavam is far

superior to that of our Lord's and we are extremely

fortunate to experience it first hand.
