Dear Bhakta-s

Yesterday, 02-01-2000, was pAadukA avathAra thirunAL. It was on this very

day, around seven centuries ago, Swamy Desikan had composed the mahA kAvyam

" Sri Ranganatha Paduka Sahasram " in praise of Lord Sri Ranganatha.

Though Swamy Desikan has innumerable works to his credit, it is only in Sri

Ranganatha Paduka Sahasram, Swamy Desikan finally says in the 1001 st

slokam-

" saphalam mama janma tAvadEthath "

and not in any of his other works.

Such is the greatness of Sri Ranganatha Paduka !!!

" maNipAdukayOryugam murArE:

- dwandwa paddhathi - 2nd slokam

Sri:

SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha,

Dear Sriman Balaji Swamin,

Thank you very much for reminding us of the significance of this

great day-the day when Swami Desikan composed the magnificent verses

of the Padhuka Sahasram-through your wonderful summary. Adiyen is

short of adjectives to compliment you for your superb posting. It is

no coincidence that the Nada Paddhati summary reached completion

today. May the glorious Padhukas confer their munificent blessings on

all of us. Thanks again for your superb posting.

Swami Desikan TiruvadigaLe sharaNam

Namo Narayana,

SriMuralidhara Dasan
