Guest guest
Sri: Dearest all, My son's question on abivaadhanam: 1. Is abivaadhanam an inroduction of who we are with regard to gothram, vEdam etc.. (I said- yes) 2. Is that the reason why it is done for PerumAL and sanyaasis. because they know everything.. (I had to say.. yes.) 3. If that is only irnducing yourself humbly, why do we do everytime to the same person, sicne he already knows who we are.. (I kept silent) 4. If it is only introduction, why do we do to our own parents? They know about us already. 5. If there is no requirement for PerumAL, why do we do at the end of sandhyavandhanam..? learned members, please thorw more light.. Guest guest
SrI: NarayananE namakkE parai tharuvAn Dear Shri Madhavakkannan: It is interesting to note Sri. Vijay's questions. It is a quiet interesting to know that Adiyen had a learning on this subject, from Aidyen's father-in-law, Sri G S Narayanan, while Adiyen was in India last month. The basic reason for reciting Abivaadhanam, every time, is for the self to know the lineage one belongs to, and feel proud of. While it is 'Introduction' to other Bagavataas, it is more for 'self' to know of one's 'kulam' or lineage and to get the resolve to maintain the dignity of the lineage. dasan Anand 27th January 2000 Srimad Azhagia Singar Thiruvadigale Saranam Shrimate Shri Seetha Ramachandra Parabrahmane Namaha - Madhavakkannan V <srivaishnavan Thursday, January 27, 2000 9:34 AM doubt on abivaadhanam.. > Sri: > > Dearest all, > > My son's question on abivaadhanam: > > 1. Guest guest
Dearest members, Adiyen referred this subject to my uncle Shri Kandhadai Narasimhan whose reply i feel adds one more angle to the reason as why it is repeatedly uttered at all. kandhadai krishnakumar (1)Abhivaadhanam is the introduction of ones lineage from the Maharshis.suthras etc. This is given by father to son at the time of yagnopavitha dharanum. One of the advantages is not marrying close cousins which results in some defects in birth of child. (2)it is that one introduces to other learned persons what we call kulam in tamil. 3. This is to be done every time to ingrain it in your mind so that you will be reborn in the same circumstances which helps you to evolve quickly. 4.see above 5.sandhya is the meeting of dark and light or light and dark. this is to get help across time in times of any difficulty you may meet in the eagles path. prahladas help that came in the form of nrisimha ok - Madhavakkannan V <srivaishnavan Thursday, January 27, 2000 4:34 AM doubt on abivaadhanam.. > Sri: > > Dearest all, > > My son's question on abivaadhanam: > > 1.
