Guest guest
Sri: Sri Lakshminrisimha Parabrahmane Namaha Sri Ramanujaya Namaha Sri Nigamantha Mahadesikaya Namaha Before continuing with the slOkAs , adiyEn would like to apologise for the interruption in the posting. SRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA - translation by Sri.V.N.Gopala Desikan Chapter IV slOkA 31 yajna-sishtAmrta-bhujO yAnti brahma sanAtanam nAyam loksty ayajnasya kutonyah kuru-sattama Translation : bhuj: - those who eat amrit - the nectar yajna-sisht - of the remains of the yajnA yanti - attain sanAtanam - the eternal brahmA - jivAtmA. kuru-sat-tama - ArjunA( the best among kurus), ayajnasya - to one who does not do yajnA, ayam - this lOkah - world na asti - is not there. kutah - How then anyah - the other world ? Those who ear the nectar of the remains of the yajnA , attain the eternal jivAtmA. ArjunA ( the best among Kurus), to one who does not do yajnA, this world is not there. How then the other world ? Commentary :After doing these yajnAs, they eat the amrita of remaining food and do karma yOgA. They then realise the true nature of the soul, which has the Brahman as its inner soul. A person who does not do the daily rituals (nitya and naimittika karmAs) and panch mahA yajna, does not even get dharmA, artha and kAmA ( good conduct, wealth and desires). When he cannot get wealth and other material pleasures even in this world; there is no question of his getting mOkshA. slOkA 32 Evam bahu-vidhA yajnA vitatA brahmano mukhe karma-jAn viddhi tAn sarvAn Evam jnAtvA vimokshyase Translation : bahuvidhAh - Many such yajnA - yajnAs evam - like these vitatAh - have been explained brahmanO mukhe - to see the jivAtmA. Viddhi - Know that , sarvAn - all tan - these karma-jAn - are based on daily rituals. jnAtvA - Knowing evam - thus vimOkshyase - you will be liberated. Manu such yajnAs like these have been explained to see the jivAtmA. Know that, all these are based on daily rituals. Knowing this you will be liberated. Commentary : Thus , many kinds of karma yOga are there, which are the means for realising the soul. But all these require a person to do the daily rituals without fail. So, performance of nitya and naimittika karmAs , like sandhyA vandhanA, is a must , before starting on karma yOga. Knowing thus and performing the karmAs accordingly, you will be liberated from the bondage of samsArA. adiyEn, balaji.
