Guest guest Posted May 11, 2000 Report Share Posted May 11, 2000 Sri: Sri Lakshminrisimha Parabrahmane Namaha Sri Ramanujaya Namaha Sri Nigamantha Mahadesikaya Namaha Sri Lakshminrisimha divya pAduka sEvaka Srivan- SatakOpa SrI nArAyaNa yateendra mahAdESikAya Namaha SRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA - translation by Sri.V.N.Gopala Desikan slOkA 6 sannyAsas tu mahA-bAho duhkham Aptum ayogatah yOga-yukto munir brahma na chirenAdhigacchathi Translation : mahA-bAho - ArjunA ( of mighty arms), sannyAsas tu - but jnAna yOgA duhkham - is difficult Aptum - to attain ayogatah - without karma yOgA. yOga-yuktO - One who remains in karma yOgA munir - is also a sage Adhigacchathi - (and he) attains brahma - the jivAtmA na chirena - very soon. ArjunA ( of mighty arms), but jnAna yOgA is difficult to attain with out karma yOgA. One who remains in karma yOgA is also a sage (and he) attains the jivAtmA very soon. Commentary : JnAna yOgA, however ,cannot be attained without karma yOgA. But , a person doing karma yOgA and meditating on his soul, realises the soul, without delay in a short time.
