220. padhAvani! thvadhaBhiShEchanamangalArTham

BhErIshatham BhrushamathAdyatha yath prathIthaI:

AkarNya thasya sahasA thumulam ninAdham

lanGAkavAtanayanAni nimIlithAni

 

Oh Paaduka! The drums that beat to proclaim the moment of coronation,

beat so loudly-hundreds at a time-for the auspicious moment-that the

doors of the houses in Lanka got shit in fear, automatically, even as

the eyes close in fear involuntarily, on a high-pitch drum-beat.
