223. dhevi! thvayA snapanasampadhi samshrithAyAm

dhagDhE purE dashamuKhasya valimuKhEna

AsIth thatha: praBruthi vishvajanaprathItham

adBhyO agnirithyavithaTham vachanam munInAm

 

Oh Devi! Even as the grand Abhisheka was performed in Your honour

here, the land of Ravana was

burnt by the monkey;* thereafter it was recognized that Fire comes

from water as rightly

enunciated by sages** to be accepted by all people.
