Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas: Sometime ago, a Bhagavata asked about the significance of " Akshaya Trithiyai " . I gave him the following reply. I will be much obliged if anyone could explain the significance of not only " Akshaya Thritiyai " but also several others included in my reply? Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy ========================================================== Dear friend: Thank you for asking the question relating to Akshaya Thrithiyai. I think this has something to do with SrAddha ceremony. I am not sure. If you flip through the pages of any Panchangam, you will come across many such expressions (e. g) Chandra Dasami, Madhana Trayodasi, Sankatahara Chathurthi, PradOsham, SoonyArkam, Vishnupathi, RambA Thrithiyai, IshTi, Tridinasprik, AgasthOdayam, Nagachaturthi, HarivAsaram, Rishi Panchami, MuktAbharaNa Saptami, DoorvAshtami, MahAbharaNi, MahAvytheepAdam, AvidhavA navami, TulAkrishna Panchami, GOshtAshtami and many more. Frankly, I have not learned the significance of every one of them in the AnushTAna classes. If you tell me why you are particularly interested in Akshaya Thrithiyai, I can consult my Acharyan or other scholars and let you know. Guest guest
Dear Sri Ramaswami, adiyen knows very little about Panchangams, but can explain about Mahabharani because adiyen had heard about it from Vaikunthavasi Sri U. Ve. Kannan Swamy. Mahabharani occurs right after Mahalayapaksham or during the " Kolu " season. On this day one can do Sraddham for all ancestors together instead of doing it on the particular thithi the anniversary of each ancestor separately. If this is done in Gaya it is even more auspicious. adiyen Ramanuja daasan, jagan. >Dear Bhagavatas: >Sometime ago, a Bhagavata asked about the significance of " Akshaya >Trithiyai " . >I gave him the following reply.
