It is not that different if the word gAyathri and sAvithri are used interchangably. For many usages both thes words mean the same and can be used in different places. Sri irAmAnusa noRRu anthAthi is also known as prabhandha gAyathri. ie., Some used address this grantham as a prabhanda gAyathri as well. There is a simple explanation one can provide for this. One has to do sadhyAvandhanam thrice a day and without fail chant or do japam on Sri gAyathri manthram. Just as similar to Sri gAyathri manthram one has to remember this manthram known as Sri irAmAnusa nooRRu anthAthi atleast thrice a day ie.. on all the three kAlams. One can also derive that this prabhandham or literature is called as prabandha gAyathri for some other simple reasons as well. Sri gAyathri has the essence of all the vEdham in it. By chanting it one can extract the vEdha sAram in their mind body and soul. Sameway this Sri irAmAnusa nooRRu anthAthi has the essence of all the 4000 prabhandhams and one can distill the essence of all these 4000 prabhadhams by understanding chanting this nool as well. Without going into the exact meaning, simple outaly for Sri gAyathri manthram may be cited to provide a comparison. It is said that Sri gAyathri manthram contains the jeeva prayatthanam and Lord's aruL in it. Same way this grantham Sri irAmAnusa nooRRu anthAthi also contains the aruL of the Lord and the jeeva prayatthanam explained in it. In order to see why Sri rAmA's name may be seen as something equivalent to Sri gAyathri manthram an attempt is made to compare Srimadh vAlmiki rAmAyanam and Sri gAyathri manthram. They both has some common structure in them. Sri vAlmiki delivered Srimadh vAlmiki rAmAyanam in 24 chapters and Sri gAyathri manthram has 24 aksharams. Srimadh vAlmiki rAmAyanam begins each chapter with each one of the aksaram of Sri gAyathri manthram in the same order as they appear in Sri gAyathri manthram. Sri rAma is considered as the vEdha purushan or purusha utthaman who conducted HIMself as per every aspect of Sri vEdhA without even a hairline deviation. So HE is considered the essence of vEdham in this avathAram and HIS thiru nAmam is considered the essence of vEdham. Sri gAyathri manthram is also considered as the essence of vEdham. Sri nAlAyira divya prabhandam is considered the vEdham. In such tamil vEdham, the name of Sri irAmAnusar is considered as the essence or sAram of vEdham as it appears in the tamil vEdha gayathri known as irAmAnusa nooRRu anthAthi. The thirumEni of Sri AdisEshan is referred to as vEdham in some places. So it is not an exaggeration if one says that the name Sri irAmAnusar itslef is the vEdha sAra aksharam and the nooRRu anthAthi is the gAyathri manthram.
